I got the tacos with the meat, lettuce and cheese. The chicken was super salty and the tacos were soggy because the server didn’t drain the tomato juice before adding the tomatoes, which is quite negligent. How do you make tacos all day and not know how to not make soggy tacos. The food was terrible, even starving I could only finish one of the three. Lastly, they only covered a quarter of the tacos with meat then charge extra for more meats. The best thing about this place was one of the male staff was friendly and gave great customer service.

We have been coming to this Cafe Rio every week for 4 years for their military discount day on Mondays. Our family of 7 can eat for a very good price and the food and service is phenomenal!

Pretty good for a fast food Mexican type establishment. I got the tacos wich were good and the tortillas were made from scratch. The only con I would say is the fact there is an upcharge for the rice and beans. I do understand as the prices for anything are crazy.

My students recommended Cafe Rio in Germantown a while back, so when one opened in Rockville I decided to give it a try. We ordered the “Saturday Special” which was shrimp tacos (made them coconut shrimp) and a steak quesadilla. All adult portions, and I told the server to put everything on it. I didn’t order any drinks, went with waters. Came out under $20. I split it with my two kids. It was enough food but not as much as I expected from the pictures on their menu board. I wanted more salad or greens. My mom ordered tres leches dessert and it was fine, but a bit too sweet for my taste. She had been here for the opening and was a bit disappointed this second time around. The horchata is not authentic, taste more like sugary milk. But the Te de Jamaica was good.

One of my favorite restaurants! The best item on the menu is the pork barbacoa burrito enchilada style. Perfect combination of sweet and salty. I prefer the mild sauce which is a green sauce without a tomatillo base. Fresh tortillas made in front of you while you are in line are amazing. The salads and tostada’s are also great here. My wife prefers the grilled chicken.

Wont go there again. Tried first time their beef tacos. I just want to think she was new. My tacos were swimming in a sween sauce and I had asked hot sauce. Sour cream was tiny bit on the edge. Cheese was extra $2.99? Come on. Would not recommend to even my ex wife

Really good food, fresh, inexpensive and super friendly service. Fantastic location if you live between North Potomac, Gaithersburg. For the opening day they had a couple of hostesses and they were just amazing handling the massive crowd.
