Cafe Royale had some of the best goat meat dish I’ve had in a while. Fork tender with some flavorful rice green bell pepper and onion. Their red and green salsa’s were amazing, the green one felt right at home with a very pleasant spice level yet still having very complex flavor’s. The red salsa was sweeter and was a nice palate cleanser for the dish. The staff was pleasant and welcoming with a nice price point for the amount of food. This might be the new spot!

Cafe Royale is an excellent choice for anyone looking for authentic Somali cuisine that is zabiha halal certified. Their chicken tenders are a must-try and packed with flavor, while the goat meat and beef suqaar are equally delicious. The portions are generous, and the service is excellent, making for a great dining experience. It’s reassuring to know that all of their food is prepared according to halal guidelines, making it a great choice for those who adhere to a halal diet. This restaurant has this sweet and sour chicken that I crave all the time!! It’s a huge portion so I always end up having leftovers which is great. Me and my family always get a plate of hummus which we love with pita bread!!! And I’m a chocolate lover so for dessert chocolate cake with whipped cream topping!! Sweet and Sour is amazing….

Absolutely delicious food. Been coming for a while and the food is always worth it. They recently got new friendly owners and their portions are big and the taste is great. Wait time is isn’t long and they even had free chocolates for the kids. My favorite is the Chicken Deluxe Fries but their wings are also a must-try. 100% Zabiha so I definitely recommend, 10/10

Having had good Somali food in SLC, I was excited to discover Somali cuisine in San Diego. Upon a Google/Yelp search, a couple of Somali restaurants came up in the area. We were looking for a place that was open for dine in, and not all the restaurants updated their information online. I called a couple of them and was surprised to find out that some of them weren’t open for months, while they claimed to be open online. This was one of the few that were opened and had dine in with good reviews.
