Since 1995, we’ve brought a fresh perspective to Mexican. One thing has remained constant. How your food is made matters. Where it comes from matters. Ingredients matter. Recipes matter. Freshness, quality and imagination matter. Above all, flavor matters.

I usually wait a little while after something new opens to try it so it gives the restaurant time to settle in and work any issues out. My coworkers wanted to try this for lunch so I put the order in and drove across town to grab it. Positives, it was fast and the flavors are great. Negatives, for the price-point these bowls are literally half-full. I can let that slide but my biggest negative is I got the Sunset Bowl and a few of the main ingredients are missing. Maybe they were out of Avocado or something. I’ll still give it another try some other time. The good outweighs the bad for sure.

This would be my second time coming here, and both visits were phenomenal. Last time, I got a burrito with rice, quinoa, chicken, non-spicy veggies, queso, sour cream, and cheese. The burrito was so fulfilling I sadly had to dispose of the remaining few bites. This visit, I got a bowl with the same thing except I got fish instead of chicken. The variety of choices for protein, I think is what makes this place stand out. As well as the quality of the food. The portions are great as well. The price is very affordable (my husband and I get out of here for a total of $27). As far as worrying about your diet, don’t. They have the healthy choices of dairy free, gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan. 10/10 recommend.

Mom alert: GO!!!!!!!! This place makes everything from scratch, they cook their veggies in olive oil, and has kid items that are large enough for my 4 and 6 year old to share. Hallelujah!

We were walking outside and the owner was so welcoming we were swept right in. The layout and design was impeccable!! We were impressed before even ordering. The food and service were top notch as well. We can’t wait to be back!

Lived here 11 years and to be completely honest this place was amazing! It totally crushes Moe’s, Chipotle, and Qdoba.

The food is not very good at all. I went with a few other people and we all said the same. Average at best. They forgot items in each of our bowls. By the time you notice there is a line and a wait to let them know to fix it. Prices are high and bowls were only halfway filled up and it’s mostly with rice and lettuce. Chicken was dry as a bone as was the rice. Guac was so bland it was unbelievable. Instead of asking how our meal was as we were the only ones in the dining room the owner sat there on his cell phone on a personal call. Sorry but that’s unprofessional. We won’t be back. Too many other better options that are delicious if you want Mexican food.

I was excited for California Tortilla to be back in Williamsburg. However, like all new California Tortilla locations, they do not keep plain grilled chicken on their line, only chicken mixed with barbecue sauce. Why not keep plain chicken on your line and just add the sauce when requested? I’ll only be able to enjoy California Tortilla when I’m out of town in DC/Maryland/Pennsylvania where they have older locations that know what their customers want.

If you’re going to call a place California tortilla then it needs to taste like actual California Spanish food. The various combinations of burritos sounds great but the quality is no better than chipotle. Actually I would’ve rather ate at chipotle. Dining room tables were dirty

Okay place if you’re looking for a quick bite. Food is good but has wayyyy to much salt in it. You’re better off supporting one of the many local and authentic mexican restaurants nearby. Asked for avocado slices and the gentleman gave me guac and they didn’t offer to take off the additional charge for their mistake
