Even after years the food is still excellent, the wine selection superb. This restaurant is highly recommended, even we had to chase down the water girl to get more water. But these are the things which makes this place even more charming.

Traveled from West Broward (Sawgrass area) @ 30 min ride on a Tuesday (8/29) for lunch based on great reviews on “Let’s eat South Florida” and the place was closed. Website states they’re open on Tuesday starting at 11 am. There was no sign on the door and when calling the main number…it went straight to voicemail mail.

This was my first time ordering from this restaurant. I ordered the chicken with two sides which were tostones and salad. The tostones were as hard as rocks and I could barely chew them. The salad was OK. The chicken was OK. The flan was very thin and had a grainy texture. The caramel top was burnt and tasted like burnt toast. I could not eat it and threw it away. I will not be ordering from this restaurant again. It was very disappointing.

We had dinner here at 6:15pm on a Friday night and it was totally empty until 6:45pm. Not sure why because the food was amazing, the service was great & the atmosphere was really really nice.

Within the same ugly strip store as a trashy convenience store you will find Candela. Once inside you are transported to Spain. The restaurant has a Spanish theme and a handsome design. I was also thrilled to find they offer Rioja wine from Spain. I ordered the garlic roast pork with rice and beans. The pork was tender and the flavors had baked in well and had a delightful flavor. Service was efficient. There were limited tables available outside. While this may be a restaurant that you may drive by it is worth the stop.

Stopped by just for wine with friends on a Thurs. night and knew we needed to return Friday night for dinner. It truly was one of the BEST meals ever! We shared a cheese sampler and 3 tapas plates…Refried garbanzo beans and chorizo, garlic shrimp, and stuffed peppers. All exceptional! Quaint atmosphere with nice wine selection and house made sangrias. Yves, our waiter was friendly and accommodating. Thank you Yves for making our experience at Candela one to remember! We will definitely be back!

Excellent local establishment. Ambience felt very much like a real Madrileño taverna. Armando and his wife do an excellent job. He is meticulous about the details of every plate he serves. Can’t recommend this place enough.
