Overall a sort of average bar Cantina lunchroom. The three taco plate is okay. You do have to walk through a smoke-filled casino to get here. The one very notable thing on the menu are breaded deep fried green chile strips. Those alone are worth wading through the smoke.

Won big a couple weeks ago and when they gave me a food voucher I chose Cantina Rio since it’s fairly new. Wanted to give it a shot. atmosphere was good. Only thing I think management should improve on is helping their staff become better waiteresses/waiters. They’re pretty much all over the place. I kind of felt bad for them because I had a sense they didn’t know what they were doing even though they were trying their hardest. Felt like the only waitress working was the little girl with glasses. The food took forever to come out. Burgers were good. Cesar salad had to much lettuce and not enough chicken.

Do not ever go to Cantina Rio! The service was lousy! Waitress was inattentive and we had to keep going up to the bar to get service. We complained about the waitress and then when we left security ended up stopping us at the door claiming we didn’t pay our ticket. Luckily I paid with a card and had proof of payment. My friend had to pay twice because she paid in cash and did not have proof. We were the last ones out the door so the waitress may have taken it then accused us of not paying especially since we complained about her. The band was great, but staff kept walking in front of the stage, where there were no tables, during their show. Nachos were huge, but mediocre tasting. It was very slow on a Friday night which I can only assume is a testament to their service! Get a better restaurant in there Santa Anna!

I recently had my rehearsal dinner here and it was amazing. Will definitely be recommending to family and friends! The servers were on top of any, and everything we needed! We had a big party and everyone was happy with the food and service! I am happy I was able to find a close restaurant with great food and prices. The manager was also amazing he made sure to come around to my guest’s, and make sure they and us were happy the entire time! Thank you to the Cantina, staff, and manager Allen

We spent labor day weekend at the Casino hotel with the kids. Put our name on the waiting list and let me tell you..we waited! For about 30 min. In that time, I stood watching and carefully paying attention to listen to be called. The hostess who seemed to be working around 8 on both sat and sun night seated people who came in after us. I watched as she let 5 families go ahead of us. Finally I went up and she claimed she called our name and even went walking around in the restaurant. I found that funny because she lied, didn’t look us in the eye. Her response was very snobbish. In the time we got seated, I noticed how she was super extra nice to her race, and she didn’t take well to us Native Americans. I observed her actions and brought it to my spouses attention. It was obvious how her manners were towards Hispanics verses the treatment towards Native Americans, rude. I’m not one to jump to conclusions, but this woman should not be allowed to host if she has difficulty towards Native Americans. Especially if it’s a Santa Ana Pueblo Casino. Other than the racial experience, the food was great! That’s why we went back the second night, and there she was, same attitude. Conclusions were right. She did it again. Please have a discussion with the older Hispanic hostess as the Casino has many diversity to bring in business. And I know these people who got seated with top priority and treated with great privilege, didn’t have a reservation…. As I was standing close enough to hear each one ask while she said there’s a 20 min wait and took each individuals name. #racist

The food was horrible. The rice had was bland and the refried beans tasted canned and were way to salty. The enchiladas were topped with a flavorless sauce and the tortillas were not cooked. The chicken tenders were dry and hard. The tortilla soup just tasted of cumin. My husband went to the restaurant hungry and left hungry. Definitely not worth the money. The only positive part of our experience was our waitress and the very kind manager.

Prices are unbelievable great, especially drinks. Food portions are good, if not, larger than expected. Only complaint might be drinks. Wish they had larger cups for convince for customers and waitresses, especially with football coming back. This restaurant has a little bit if American, Hispanic, and even Italian food. Plus, free chips and sales where most restaurants are stingy about.

We went there last night to celebrate Father’s Day. We seated ourselves in a booth (there was no greeter or host at the entrance)

i just returned from eating at the Rio Cantina and must say I miss the Sadies that it replaced. We live nearby and thought we would give it a try but unfortunately had not read the previous reviews— big mistake. I ordered a burrito with onion rings as a side. The burrito was dry and hard as a hockey puck and the rings must have come from the freezer. Everything from the salsa to the chips were 3rd rate. Singularly this is about the worst Mexican food I have experienced and I suggest that the chef/cook eat at some of the great restaurants in Albuquerque /Santa Fe to see what the food they serve should taste like.
