I cannot believe that I’ve been living in lansing for 2 years and haven’t ever tried Capital City BBQ. Guy Fieri has visited this place twice! The Owner Linh was honestly the sweetest lady, and the food was DYNAMITE! I ate a Shrimp Egg Roll, Egg Roll, Brisket Banh MI Sandwich, Pulled Pork Sandwich, Mac and Cheese and Greens.

Dude, have you been here? I mean if you like Vietnamese food and good old fashioned BBQ, this might be the place for you. I want to try more of the menu here, I honestly do, but I am certainly stuck on the brisket. The brisket plate and or the brisket banh mi. Both great and I wish they never ended in servings like in Harry Potter. I have also tried this pho, which is good. Vietnamese coffee, I don’t know if they still make it the same way, but I did enjoy that tiny pinch of condensed milk at the end. They also offer different dessert pastries, such as pie or cake, so you can get appetizers, a meal, and dessert. This restaurant is a bit on the small side there is minimal parking so be aware. I come around here for worked once or twice a year and I get it every single time. Maybe it isn’t and a little corny, but I always use to pass this little restaurant and one day 4 years ago I was looking at Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives in Lansing and sure enough Capital City BBQ was on the list. And I am so glad I gave it a go… I’m kind of craving a plate now.

A unique stop in lansing. Originally designed as a cell phone store, later store/restaurant hybrid. Capitol City BBQ has captured the attention and affection of foodies, and for good reason. A great sized menu with delicious options, fused by Vietnamese/Smoked meat influence. Never had anything I didn’t like. Fresh and tasty every time.

I’ve driven past this location a dozen times or so but I was never hungry till today. What a fantastic gem! I’ve been on a Brisket kick the last month or so and up until today, every Brisket I’ve ordered from a restaurant has been either too smokey or completely over cooked to shoe leather. Capital city BBQ has hands down the best restaurant cooked Brisket I’ve tried. I like the odd ball items off a menu and ordered the Banh Mi Brisket sandwich and it was amazing. The toppings on the sandwich complimented each other perfectly along with a delicious piece of Brisket. I even thanked the owner, which I rarely do for a great lunch. I’ll see y’all soon.

Too tired to cook and can’t decide want to eat? This place has you covered! I devoured the banh mi sandwich and the 1 pound of rib tips of takeout the moment I got home from work. I love Capital City offers the best of the East and the West: Vietnamese cuisine and American BBQ meals. Waitstaff was so friendly taking my order and told me the chef personally makes all the desserts herself. Can’t wait to go back and sample everything!

Our community rallied to help save this place. I had never been until I saw posts on the Lansing Foodies Favebook page alerting us that CCBBQ was hurting. Not sure why we hadn’t been yet but it was perfect for us! I prefer the fresh side with the Spring rolls and pho, my husband loves BBQ and fries. Match made in lansing!

Visiting the area and found this Great Place to get BBQ and Vietnamese- two of our faves! Bahn Mi Brisket sandwich was excellent! Lots of cilantro Pho soup was good size portion for price – very yummy too- Parking was interesting – but maybe we just didn’t know the drill 🙂 We will definitely come back when in area!

This restaurant truly is a secret gem that deserves the hype. I couldn’t reach them through phone, but in-person they were up and running. We had the brisket banh mi and brisket rice plate which were phenomenal. Definitely recommend taking the trip here for some authentic Vietnamese food with perfect bbq. Make sure to come in earlier in the day so that your selections are not already sold out!
