The location is great, the inside is super unique and has a ton of character. I got the cubano. it was great! Dipped it in the sweet jesus sauce and it made it even better. Boyfriend got the Reuben. Said it was the best reuben hes ever had. (Lets face it…hes had a lot of reubens lol). Friend got the rib tips. saidnthey were pretty good. Fries were good. Potato salad was cold, but just standard potato salad. Overall…we are pretty impressed, and got to eat in the jail cell which was pretty cool. We will definitely be back!

This is no longer the place that’s advertised. It’s a taco place that claims to have birria. No idea if it’s good, I just wish they would try to fix up this listing. We left to go find some barbecue.

I have only been here for lunch and was impressed. The food was delicious and the portions were large. This building is an old police station that serves as a BBQ style restaurant and banquet space and is totally unique.

5 star all the way. Going back as soon as possible. BBQ joint in an old country jail, enjoy your bbq sitting in a cell with 8 close friends. Bbq was on point, they do serve beer and alcohol too.

Absolutely delicious barbeque, some of the best baked beans I’ve ever had. Super cool ambience in the old jail, and good service as well.

A little out of the way, but fun to eat in a former police precinct building. Brisket is terrific, and never had anything I don’t like. Eclectic varieties of sauce for those inclined, and a nice selection of beer. Very tasty sides as well, and brunch is delicious. Reasonably priced for quality and quantity. Far better than anything at the A-B Biergarten across the street!!

Tried to like it because other reviews were good but too many strikes against it. At 1:15 on a Saturday they were out of pulled pork and corn muffins already. Then the so called roasted broccoli was definitely steamed and tasteless. Then the ham and bean soup had no liquid in it -it was mushy and not soup and very very salty. Then the ribs were way under done. Had a hard time chewing them off the bone. The flavor was good if they had cooked them longer. The brisket was very good and so was the turkey But I wouldn’t go back and I wouldn’t recommend anyone go there either. Really wanted to like it because it was fun to eat in the jail cell.

1st time there today. It was good. I got the turkey platter w/spicy slaw and fries. Slaw didn’t have much spice to it more mayo taste than anything. Both of my boys and husband mac n chesse, it wasn’t very hot. My son’s was almost cold. Food came out fairly quick. The woman at the counter is super nice.

I liked that it wasn’t your standard barbecue fare but I’m not eager to return. My two friends weren’t huge fans either. The building is cool though. Plus they had bottled cream soda, so I was still happy. Try it if you’re a local but it’s not a great representation of St. Louis BBQ if you’re visiting from out of town.

All around bad restaurant. They were out of corn bread and coleslaw mid day Sunday. All of the sauces on the table were bad. All of our meats had a lingering vinegar taste, my burger and my mother-in-law’s rib tips. Forgot my brother-in-law’s extra cooked onions that he ordered and then when they brought them out after being reminded, they were raw and not cooked. All of the bbq had a rough texture. They also serve bottled water instead of just giving glasses of water. That’s weird. We had to hunt down servers and had to refill our own tea, but mind you, cant just get a refill on water. Lastly the atmosphere was very appropriate as I can only imagine everything about food service (except the mac n cheese) being bad ONLY in a jail cell.
