I came across Capriotti’s about a month ago, and have been back several times since! The sandwiches are extremely tasty, they have the BEST fries, and service has always been great. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a heavier sandwich that’s more unique than the average sandwich shop!

I wanted to try this place as it was new to the area and I’m always looking for a good hot sandwich shop. I would say that the taste of the sandwiches and variety is pretty good. Their pastrami sandwich with slaw was really tasty, however I feel that they are a little bit stingy on the meat especially for the prices that they are charging.

Since it’s our first time trying their sandwich, we ordered the ones that we have tried in different sandwich places (like Meatballs subs, Classic Italian and Cheese steak sandwich) for comparison. Our conclusion is, Capriotti’s could easily be placed in the top 3 sandwich shops that we have had over the years. From the portion size to the taste, their sandwiches were excellent. Too bad there isn’t one near where we are…

First time trying this place. I’d try it again. Loved the thin crispy fries. I had the Italian sandwich. It was good but I’ll try something else next time. It was a bit expensive at about 32 bucks for 2 8 inch sandwiches, large fries, and a drink.

Big let down. I tried this place for the first time as I was looking for something new and I love a good sandwich. I ordered the grilled Italian and received a very sloppy sandwich that was mostly full of lettuce with just a few thin slices of meat. For a $10 sandwich it felt like I was ripped off. The taste was just ok and not nearly as good as Jimmy Johns or Jersey Mikes. The staff didn’t even acknowledge me when I walked in, even though I was the only customer there and they were not at all busy. If you’re looking to try a new sandwich shop, maybe skip over this one.

So, I love Capriotti’s and was thrilled to find out they opened up a store in Austin. I mean I LOVE Capriotti’s. They have major sentimental value to me as well. Anyway, I ordered the vegetarian turkey today through Uber Eats for lunch. By the way, the vegetarian turkey they use is amazing. I’m not a full vegetarian and I will pick this sandwhich before any other on the menu. And I love just about everything on the menu. So, it’s not the quality or taste of the food that I have issue with. Not at all. In fact, if they could improve on the issue I do have and that I see other reviews have they would be very successful. I know I would recommend them to anyone I know: I even still recommend them. Just please fix this issue. It’s kind of rude and you’re shooting yourself in the foot. The medium sandwich said 10.50 in the app. Adding oil, vinegar and pickles increased the price to around $15. I’m sorry I can’t remember exact amount. With tip and free delivery I spent over $20 for a medium sandwhich. And part of that has nothing. To do with Capriotti’s. I get and understand that: but to simply add oil, vinegar and pickles…I don’t think it should cost that much. I don’t think it should cost anything to be honest. And then when I got the $15 sandwich there was hardly any oil nor vinegar. Lots of pickles. But the sad thing is the contents. It was mostly lettuce. A lot of lettuce. Two VERY VERY thin slices of vegetarian turkey. I had to check twice to make sure the meat was even there. Im talking thin. Too thin. And that is my major complaint. For a $15 sandwich I would expect more. And I’ve had Capriotti’s before. I even worked at a Capriotti’s for my first job ever back in the day. I don’t know about you but when i get a sandwich and it’s mainly lettuce it’s annoying. Please Capriotti’s of Austin…if you’re going to charge the big boy prices please deliver accordingly. I’ll try again because I absolutely love their vegetarian turkey….I hope next time I get better results.

Cashier acted rude and the cook did one of the sandwiches wrong. Don’t know if the cashier is just oblivious but needs customer service training in any case. Quality is just average. Jimmy John’s is better and not as expensive. They’re did offer a free cookie due to the wrong sandwich, which is why not 1 star.

The Philly cheese steak with hot peppers is so good. You can’t go wrong with it. I haven’t tried anything else on the menu but I keep returning for the Philly. The manager is a nice guy, service is good and I have no complaints. Will return. 🙂

Great sandwiches, excellent customer service and atmosphere. They also solve the question of chips or fries…or where the best fries are for that matter. The fries are awesome, almost as thin as a chip but the perfect amount of crisp for a fry still having the soft center. Come ready to eat and the guys there will take care of you for sure.
