At our Columbia, SC location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Fresh hot fish. Fries were good. The okra was a little lacking, like it’d been sitting. Great service, nice employees. I didn’t go inside so I can’t attest to the atmosphere inside.

I haven’t eaten from Captain D’s in years so, we decided to stop after moving to Columbia. We ordered two advertised specials. We had to pull up as they completed our food. I threw one crab cake away because it was too hard to eat but the rest of the food was good.

I asked for a spicy fish sandwich & ended getting 3 greasy planks of non spicy fish, then the top of my non seasoned broccoli wasn’t on right so my sack was saturated with broccoli water. ♀️ . I won’t be returning

Budget Southern seafood cafeteria. Delicious fried fish, crab cakes, shrimp and hush puppies! Five sauces and malt vinegar available; combo meals starting at $5 with 2 sides included, like a well made cole slaw; and for an extra 39¢, you can get a corn on-the-cob or a baked potato! Plenty of parking and a drive-thru! Only downside is the music, piped in hip-hop from 104.7 FM, if it bothers you, take it to go! You can call-in an order to go, or to skip the line to stay! Recommended!
