A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. Food was good, service could have been better but I really blame myself for attempting to order food when I knew it was almost time to close up. Being in the restaurant business, I understand the annoyance of customers wanting to order food right before closing time… We be tired & ready to go. Love the fish tho…. I needed some D’s!!Consistently tasty fresh fried fish, reasonably priced. Some yummy, healthier options for sides, like broccoli, baked potato, corn on the cob.

Just visited this location and the young girl at the counter very rude. She was talking on her cellphone walking out the kitchen to take customers orders. She just threw all our extra sides and stuff in the bag and not to mention she was rude to the gentleman who came in after I did. He didn’t speak English very well and was pointing to the menu trying to tell her what he wanted to order and she rudely said to him Can’t you read knowing he couldn’t speak English very well. Food was fine but service was just awful.

If writing this review loses this store any customers at all, I will feel as though I’ve received proper retribution for my misery. I am a nearby college student and me and my mother where just going home after a long day of study and work and we where both starving and exhausted. Words can’t describe how hungry we were, enough that we got a small box of shrimp to eat on the way home. Our wait was a absurd twenty minutes while we where in the car eating our dashboards. Once we got our food, we noted that out ticket was wrong, and watching them inside they to must have noticed that the order was incorrect because there was allot of commotion over our order. The cashier completely wrote our order wrong and to make it right we had to pay for two additional potato sides in order to get the food we wanted. The manager apologized and we where just happy that it was over, but it was not over. We drive home, which is about 20 minutes away to discover that the Family Seafood Feast that we purchased didn’t have any fish… or hush-puppies, it didn’t even have the order of broccoli we purchased. We spent all that time and aggravation to receive half the amount of food. Thanks for the potato, handful of okra and a few shrimps Captain D’s, it’s the dinner I waited patiently over. To add the final nail in the coffin and the reason I am writing this review now is the joy of waking up on a Wednesday morning with diarrhea. I can’t be sure it was because of y’all but I am going to blame you for it. The food at Captain D’s is alright and we have only ever had a positive experience up until now, but this was so memorable and terrible of a experience that its black listed Captain D’s from my choice of fast food.

Service has definitely changed in the past few months. I ordered food for my two passengers and the food that was received was over cooked. I asked the manager for a refund; she provided one but didn’t provide the tax. When asked about the tax she looked to another employee flustered and clearly aggravated that I asked to figure out the amount I was to receive. Once provided with the correct change she slammed the window shut. As a fellow person who works in customer service, I understand we all have bad days but you should never take it out on your customers. Your actions could cause them not to return.

Unfortunately my experience was not good.. After sitting for nearly 4 minutes at the speaker I was finally acknowledged. I ordered literally 1 thing. I pulled up to the window and waited another 2 minutes for staff to come to get my card to pay.. After my card was given I waited 7 minutes for my card to come back to me while the staff were having a heated disagreement or discussion. After waiting 17 minutes at said window I finally received my food. My fries were ice, and I mean frozen still. The 1 piece of fish was hot at least and that is the only reason I’m giving 2 stars. I was the only 1 in this drive through and actually seeming the only patron at the time. I actually look forward to my captain D’s splurge every great once in awhile and am completely turned off since this is the 2nd time I’ve had a bad experience.

One of the worst customer service experiences and food is never correct. I figured I would give them a second chance since my last experience was so bad. The workers would rather talk and joke amongst themselves instead of helping their customers, they hardly smile or greet you and I even witnessed the shift manager (or at least who I think was the shift manager) yell at 3 employees taking out the trash in front of customers inside and at the drive thru. But alas, the food was still incorrect and the employees still don’t care much for their customers because the only option I was given was to come back and have it remade along with an “oh, I’m sorry your order was wrong.” A call to the district manager is in order this time.

Came here on a Wednesday at 11:30am, and there was literally one person working the counter/drive-through and one person cooking….and a restaurant full of people waiting. I waited for 30+ minutes for mozzarella sticks and clam strip appetizers. The purpose of ordering an appetizer is for the order to be quick. Do not waste your time at this restaurant. They are understaffed, and you will leave here with both cold food and a throbbing temper

Sat at the menu board for over 10 mins with no acknowledgement. Pulled up to the window and watched as the employee looked up at me and then kept texting on her phone for 30 seconds and the rifled through her purse. FINALLY came over to me to take my order. While taking my order, she kept having a conversation with someone else in the back and couldn’t get my order straight. I had to repeat it several times before she got it. Absolutely the worst experience at a drive thru in my life.
