This place has certainly gone down hill. I hate when companies raise their prices while service declines and they give you less than before but charge you more. This place is seemingly cutting their fish portions in half what used to be a whole piece of fish is now almost a fish stick. It’s ridiculous to think this is what it’s come to do better Captain D’s. If you’re going to raise the price AT LEAST give the full portion.

I’m an ex-employee so I can give y’all some good insight. If you want good food, this Captain D’s is a good place to eat at, as long as you’re willing to tolerate 40+ minute wait times because the cooks are busy giggling and avoiding their jobs, the literal children running the front counter and drive through windows having an attitude with you for existing, the manager getting enraged at you because the crew messed up your order and you asked for a new plate, screaming and yelling at everyone because you had the audacity to order online, and for the love of God don’t ask for a refund because every single member of that store will despise you, and will talk bad about you whether you’re still standing right there or not. The drive through is often wrapped around the store, and ignored. The customers in the lobby who are picking up delivery orders tend to be waiting well over 30-40 minutes even though online orders are supposed to be “prioritized”, and dine in is awful because you can literally turn in your seat and watch the employees talk trash about anyone and everyone in the store, mess around and avoid doing their jobs, to the detriment of other employees and/or customers, and take an attitude with anyone daring to ask a single thing, because apparently it’s a problem to want to eat. Not to mention, they’re often “out” of certain things because they don’t feel like making that type of food. If you want Captain D’s, take the time to drive to one with better service because this place deserves to be shut down.

The service was not spectacular. In drive thru and no one was in front of me and I ordered 2 slices of cheesecake. I was told it was a 30 minute wait. I repeated the order thinking it was no understood and the response was the same. I’m sure the instructions to advise customers of a 30 minute wait was for hot food orders, not for prepackaged food served from a freezer or refrigerated storage. The young lady didn’t use any critical thinking skills to qualify my order. I left and picked up a whole pie from Ingles. Captain D’s you have to do better.

It Honestly Infuriates me to even give this place 1 Star. The service is the worst I’ve ever seen, the place is dirty, employees are ridiculously rude and the food screams inedible! And don’t even get me started on how ABSOLUTELY GOD AWFUL THE GM is. Janice Johnson should not operate a store let alone be in a position of management. Loud, rude and in all ways disrespectful. This store should either restaff or shut down. Wouldn’t recommend this location to my worst enemy. Captain d’s needs to do way better!

Dear lord, please close this store down because it needs to be. About a week ago I ordered online and waited 45 minutes, only for my order to be cancelled by my driver. Then I went up to the store to order instead and the little blonde girl up front literally rolled her eyes at me when I called to her to order because she was standing by the drive through window on her phone. While I had waited for her to turn to me, I watched her sigh and have an attitude at every little ping sound that I assume indicated a new person coming in the drive through. After sitting down, I still waited 30 minutes before I had to go up and ask if my food was ready. When the same blonde girl angrily turned to ask whoever was in the kitchen for my order, she got verbally assaulted by the cooks, telling her to not ask about the time on foods again and that “It’ll be out when it’s ready”. She just looked at me and shrugged and went back on her phone. There were several people there who had been waiting for 20-30 minutes, one for almost an hour for their online orders. There was one woman I’ve seen in the back before, her name is Janice I think, but she was being so incredibly rude towards the other cooks, shouting at them and acting like they were the most incompetent people to exist. I watched someone walk up and ask for a refund because they got so tired of waiting, they were just gonna go elsewhere and this Janice lady came storming out of the kitchen and aggressively gave them a refund and stormed off, immediately talking down about that poor woman for asking for a refund. The food I got, when I finally got it, was not good at all. I just ate what I could and left because I didn’t want to get yelled at for asking for a redo. My fries were soggy and wimpy, the cole slaw was *warm* and the fish, I don’t even wanna talk about. The texture of whatever batter they used, combined with the lukewarm and stale fish, made me spit out what I bit into. To keep yourself safe, buy food at literally any other Captain D’s or any other restaurant for that matter. Someone needs to fire that whole crew and restaff, especially that Janice manager. She was awful.

Unfortunately the grilled fish was undercooked and would not even pull apart. The sides to one our plates were cold to be fair this was replaced. The undercooked fish is the concern. Usually have a great experience here not this evening.

Had the three piece fish and 2 sides(fried okra and fries)as did my girlfriend, and an unexpected surprise, a hair. I immediately told management who took care of the situation without hesitation, and NEVER tried to put the blame on me, as some establishments will try to do.

Unfortunately, the drive-thru is handing out the wrong dinners to it’s customers. Attention Manager, I ordered a 3-piece fish fillet, with french fries, and green beans. Instead I received, two fish fillets, two chicken fingers, and five shrimp. Clearly I was handed the wrong order. The window attendant gave me my correct drink and sides and correct receipt. 4/21/23 6:00pm
