At our Gainesville, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Went through drive through to get dinner for home . It was terrible . We threw everything away . The tea was sour . Fish taste like it had been cooked in old oil and sitting for hours , to the point it was rubbery tasting when you bit into it . Nothing was edible . When I called and ask to speak to the manager her reply was “everything we have is cooked fresh “ there wasn’t even an apology . This will be the last time we use this location !

I’ve ate here before long ago and was excited to go eat here again but I was disappointed that the okra was under fried, my spicy fish was warm and seemed like it had sat out too long. The shrimp were great and the extra fish was done right along with the potato. Store was clean and that’s always a plus

5/26/23 I just left this restaurant with a terrible upsetting experience. My wife and I went in to place a family dinner order to go. The man taking orders rushed me until I chose which family dinner and then DEMANDED to know which two sides IMMEDIATELT! I stopped him to request that my fish be country style, which he didn’t appreciate. Then, I couldn’t find the sides on the menu and he yelled, “their there right in front of you!” At that point, we just said we were leaving. He started SCREAMING, “I’ll Tell you what YOU”RE not going to do in here”, The manager, Evelyn, came out to try and diffuse the situation, but to no avail. I’ll never walk in that door again!

Place should be condemned, food was terrible and the bathrooms haven’t been cleaned in forever. Stunk like urine. Just what America has become overpriced food that isn’t fit to eat. I wouldn’t eat here again if it was free. I threw out my meal after eating a few bites.

New manager was super nice. Very friendly and helped us order. Food was hot. Service was normal for waiting time to bring food out. Bathrooms could have been a bit cleaner and the drink/condiment area needed some TLC but overall very good place!

Who in the Heck wants to eat warmed up fish?? Fish was dry and tough. We placed our order and it was ready with in 2 minutes.Spent 27 dollars of my hard earned money on food that was Good. The restaurant was Nasty, me and the wife will not be eating at this location no more.

3rd time eating in this Capitan D’s in the last 2 weeks and probably my last. All 3 times the restaurant was dirty. Drink/sauce area, floor and tables. Last week the trash was so full you had to leave it on the tray, while a manager, it appeared was setting and talking. They were out of tea, the guy said “it’s brewing”. Out of lids, sauce cups and had to wait for a fork. This time, 5 pm on a Thursday, I’m the only one in the restaurant, 4 people standing behind the counter and the drink/sauce area dirty, spilled coke or tea all over the floor. The cook, with a beard, without a beard guard. Workers are loud (hollering) but friendly.
