A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I really enjoyed my three piece fish meal. Everything was fresh and tasty. The Cole slaw is one of the best. The hush puppies are fresh, properly cooked, seasoned and flavorful. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They brought the food to our table.

Cashier was great representative however, if you want to eat lets suggest eating elsewhere. I ordered a meal, got to my vehicle and then went right back inside because my fries were scarcely placed along with one hush puppy and nugget of hush puppy. The fries were like I opened a bag of warm chips. Absolutely advising anyone to go to another location for the employees will be stingy with old chip fries and hush puppies

I came about 9pm, and I waited in line over 25 minutes along with several other cars. No one ever answered the speaker, and when I got to the window and asked if the speaker was broken, I was told “NO” they just took their headsets off. The lady at the window was on her cell phone taking a call and acting as if I was getting on her nerves. After waiting over 10 minutes for my food after waiting the initial 15 mins, the fish seemed half cooked, the hush puppies cut my gums, they were so hard, and I didn’t get the sauces I asked for. I would give a 1 and a half but unfortunately that isn’t an option. I’ll share 2 out of my 7 experiences. It takes half an hour to get your food because there’s only one (sometimes two) employees and when you do get it its either cold, hard, over seasoned, undercooked (thankfully, I didn’t get sick), or it’s the wrong order. I strongly don’t recommend this Captain Ds and they should be closed for their unhealthy practices.

Captain D’s is one of the only places in Pensacola where you can get clams. My mother is a big fan of their clam dinner. I love the popcorn shrimp. It’s a good restaurant to go to if you’re looking for good seafood for cheap.
