At our Spring Hill, FL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Been dinning here since you opened. This is the first time I am upset with the food quality. And you where not even busy.. and I have greasy food along with the all the floating food from the fryer. Will think long and hard before coming back.

We decided to pop in and check this place out and see what Captain D’s is all about. I have to give it a 5 star rating. We had the 2 piece fish and the Giant Fish Sandwich. Everything was so good. The hush puppies were amazing! Cooked really well and the fish was great as well. The Okra was a little soft and soggy. I just don’t think it was quite fried long enough but close and the flavor was really good. The restaurant only has 5 tables but the entire place was super clean and well stocked as you can see in the photos. The manager came around and checked on everyone and that is not expected from a fast food place so I have to give them extra points for that. Overall it was an excellent experience. I would really recommend this place if you’re in the area and need a meal on the run.

My new favorite place to eat at. The staff is very friendly and the place is super clean. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. You can dine in or order take-out. When the hubby wants to eat out and ask where I’d like to go, I always say Captain D’s. They never disappoint us. I definitely recommend Captain D’s. My favorite meal is the battered fish, mac and cheese, fries, and hush puppies. It’s so filling and so delicious

We tried Captain D’s for the first time today. I did not have too high of hopes for this place and I’m glad I didn’t. It was an okay experience. Really nothing about the meal was a big deal.

I haven’t eaten at a Captain D’s since the 80s so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I sent the bar pretty low because I was expecting it to be similar to another large fast food seafood restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised though. The food was excellent. I had a lobster roll and coleslaw. Sorry for my lack of photos, I was eating and driving. The location looks very clean and much nicer than what was previously here. Very friendly staff. I will definitely be coming back!

We placed an order online, almost $50 .. all the fried food looked like it turned out great, but Ican eat that so we specially ordered grilled tilapia with no season which half of the files was missing and the rest was crispy burnt. They closed at 8pm it says, and there is no phone number to reach them. My husband sent an email. We are very upset with this experience

Not bad. Fast food fish joint that has other options than just fried fish. Lots of side choices too. Had the whitefish and shrimp. Was ok. Wasn’t bad. For a quick dinner it was ok for my 1st time. I’d go back to try other stuff. Guy behind the counter was great. Should have got his name. Asked me 3 times if everything was OK, and took our trash. Good guy. Also has some powdered sugar on my tray, we didn’t order anything with that. So that was concerning at first till we figured out what it was. And our plates had some grease and seasoning stuck to the bottom, so had to wash up after. Other than than that, ok food, ok place. Looked clean.

Fried everything. Workers behind the counter swearing for all to hear. Small portions. Hush puppies have a onion taste. Coleslaw was ok. Lobster rolls are way small with a dense miniature hogie bread roll that’s nasty . My fries were undercooked and served cold. Overall I spent $30 for 2 and still left unsatisfied and hungry as I didn’t eat the grease. Not happy with my first visit and I won’t make a second. No wonder there are hardly any of these stores around. Take my advice and go somewhere else for lunch or dinner and save yourself.

I love seafood. I was on my way to PJ’s Brick Oven Pizza In Spring Hill, FL for a slice and decided to check out Captain D’s next door for the first time. I ordered the seafood platter. Great service and customer care. But, everything on the plate was saturated with oil. Everything I poked the fork into had oil dripping out of it; I mean everything. It had so much oil that I couldn’t taste the seafood. Needless to say that I regret eating there and will never go back.

I used go to Denny’s back in Kentucky every day for lunch. This is a must go to. The people are awesome and although it’s a fast food joint the staff are extra friendly and ask you if you need anything. I will be going to the one in Port Richey once the new one is built.
