At our Smyrna, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

First time to Captain D’s. Darius the Cashier was courteous and professional. Management came around and ask how everything was. Food- Cajun Catfish, green beans, coleslaw. With Sweet tea of course. It all tasted great! Place was friendly and I plan to visit back in when I’m town.

Awful fish and even worse customer service. Rude employees. Use to love this location. Capt D’s has been added to my “never going back” list. Should have known something wasn’t right. One ca in the parking lot and one car in the drive through at dinner time hours.

The food was not good. Not sure if it was the cooks or the location or just the food in general but I didn’t like it. The only thing I did like is the spicy fish sandwich. The chicken and hush puppies tasted weird. The shrimp was ok but if you get a bag of krogers brand shrimp, it will taste and look exactly the same. Not sure if I would give it another try to be honest.

The lady and gentleman working at drive-thru window were just great – Very nice and polite. It goes downhill fast from there – The fish was okay, and the same for crabcakes, but the shrimp was HORRIBLE. It was overcooked, and tasted like it was possibly past it’s “sale-date.” Food-wise, worst experience ever at Captain D’s, and I’ve enjoyed their food for over 40 years. I’ll chalk this pick-up order as a “Fluke,” compared with the countless times I’ve been happy with the franchise!

Captain D’s has falsely advertised their restaurant as the Catfish Kitchen on DoorDash. I ordered pick up from the catfish kitchen and was directed to Captain D’s. Upon arriving I received all of my food dumped in a bucket and found that the fish and the fries did not taste good.
