At our White House, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

It had been a long time since I’ve eaten at Captain D’s. Based on my latest experience, it’ll be even longer before I go back!

Well it is not what it use to be for sure, but seeing things now a days aren’t it is what it is. Service was good and the young lady that was working the counter was extremely polite!

In their defense, it was extremely busy when I visited. I’d come on a doordash and waited for 20 minutes, which felt like a lifetime with all the odd customers there at the time. The employees were all very obviously stressed out, again probably due to the volume they had that day. They were still polite and did what they could to take care of everyone.

The food was cold and the shrimp tasted like it had been cooked in old oil. The hush puppies were dry like they were old.

The attendant at the window was a perfect gentleman and should be commended for his attention to the best customer service I’ve seen at any restaurant in many years. I’m sorry I did not get his name but he is a credit to that store. However the food wasnt up to expectations the hush puppies were over cooked and put on top of the slaw which made them soggy on one side. The fish and slaw were good but they were out of butter for the baked potatoes and I’m not sure what type potatoes they use but they weren’t baked completely the only words I can think of are the baked potatoes were kind of crunchy.

Considering we’re only 20 miles from Nashville, seafood is mostly out of the question. However, this place does a decent job, their quantities are good, and the food is good it’s not a typical New England sea side eatery, but it’s just what ya might need on any given day. Give em a shot, you won’t be disappointed.

If nothing is done about the rude management at this location you may as well shut down. Restaurant was out of featured menu items and will not make any accommodations. I mean zero. At lunch time, I saw one customer in the entire store. I decided to leave and go to Zaxby’s instead. It was packed inside and cars lined up at the drive thru. Also, for being so slow it took about 3 full minutes before anyone even realized I was standing at the counter! No wonder the place was practically deserted
