At our Jonesborough, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. The food today was SO GOOD! The person who took the order could not have cared any less about doing so. I greeted her first, hoping to improve her day but it wasn’t to be. Well after the lunch rush the tables were not truly clean, nor were the benches. This restaurant could use closer attention to the details. Still going back for the perfectly-prepared food, though. Blackened whitefish with a shrimp skewer, both perfectly seasoned, and the spicy fish!

We were just before closing this past Saturday night. We entered the building and no one was in sight after several minutes a girl came from the back saying the cameras weren’t working and they didn’t see us come in. We placed our order and we’re served cold, burnt fish. The fries were cold and hard and my sons corn on the cob was also cold. Very disappointed in this visit.

Today was the second and last time I will come to this place. Both times I tried to order the fried oysters and they were out. This last time I sit in the drive thru for 15 min just to be told by the mouth breather at the window they were out. No excuse for this. No “I’m sorry” or offered anything to make up for this screw up. I hope this dump goes out of business.

Absolutely terrible! Ten pc family meal. The batter surrounding the fish was thick…like tough leather! Hush puppies were not cooked throughout…doughy in middle. French fries and cole slaw were good! Will never be back.

Super nice staff. They continued to interact with us and seem to enjoy their job. The cashier did open carry a side arm and I actually liked that as the nation has had so many public shootings. I will definitely be back to this location again.

The food was good however I expected it to be a bit overpriced and it was way way overpriced not to mention the charge to my card was more than $20 more than my order I didn’t dispute the charge like I needed however I don’t think it should of been a issue to begin with. Staff couldn’t understand this charge however where very friendly and seemed as concerned as myself. The low rating is to reflect the “extra” charged at this location and the price please pay attention to your receipt vs charges at this location when using a card

We arrived around 3:20 pm and ordered. Food was cold and french fries were not fit to eat. I had driven from North Carolina and looking forward to good food at this location as we have had in the past. Very disappointed in this visit and won’t make a special trip again.
