At our Hattiesburg, MS location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

The staff was very friendly and the food was great. The limitations on the side options are not financially friendly. It’s like the limited the choices buy increasing the cost of the more popular sides in order to promote the less chosen sides. Just threw off my entire taste experience.

Amazing service, especially Shannon!! She was friendly and I overheard her tell a disabled lady to go on have a seat and she would come get her order so she didn’t have to stand!! I also recognized the staff in the back, getting work done and laughing and joking! Very clean as well! 5 !

This restaurant will never have everything you want. One day they’re out of spicy, and the next day they’re out of Mac n cheese. 8/10 times you visit; you’ll have to accept a substitute dish.

Lets just start with I love Captain D’s and have never had or experienced what happened today. Ordered 3 separate orders of 2 piece fish all orders were put in the same tray. Asked Alana if I could have 2 additional containers and she handed my husband one said no more and slammed window. He tried to wave her back and she ignored him. She finally came back and I tried to explain 2 oders had to be dropped somewhere else and I needed them separate so i needed one additional, and she refused and told me to pull off. I had sat at the window for 5 more minutes before she handed us another containet and told us we were now banned. Well at this point I don’t think I would want to come back anyway

Restaurant was clean and inviting. Staff was attentive and friendly. Food was delicious with one exception… the gumbo was very disappointing. While it did not have a bad flavor, it didn’t taste like gumbo…it tasted like tomato bisque with a couple of shrimp. The portions for the cost was also pretty good in today’s economy. Nice job Captain D’s.
