At our Columbus, MS location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.
Fast-food chain serving fried fish & shrimp combo meals along with gumbo & funnel cakes. Based on 370 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 3.9 stars. Price $

The drink machine tasted like the mixture instead of the soft drink. The wait was entirely too long for it to have been as empty as it was. The lady was sweeping up dusting next to our table. Didn’t bring any sauces to our table after stating they would. Also, food was overcooked and way more greasy than any other captain ds I’ve been to. I will never be going back to this location again.

Very friendly and food came out fresh, hot, and in a timely manner. The drink machine in the dining room did not work, but not a big problem.

Took my son to Captian D’s today when we got to Columbus. Our hushpuppies looked like someone took a bite off them, which the cook said that was prob where they were pulled apart, idk. We didn’t eat them anyway. But, the food has been better. The floor had something spilled on it & over all, nasty. When I went to dump our tray, there wasn’t a garbage bag to dump it in so we just left. The last time I had ate there, it was great. But this time, it just wasn’t what it use to be. We was disappointed.

Food wasn’t the worst, but it wasn’t the best either. Did have to wait about ten minutes, but that’s bc they cooked it right then

The lobster bites were awesome. The hushpuppies were completely saturated in oil. I couldn’t eat them and I love hushpuppies.

Took 25 minutes to receive my food and I waited out side. Employees told me that they did not drop my order when I ordered it. I was not satisfied with the food at all.

The service was great but the portion size is laffable. The “chicken planks” were the size of nuggets, 7 green bean pieces was the portion size (1″ pieces), 2 broccoli florets. The soda machine seemed to be low on flavor and carbonation. The tables were clean but bare of the normal condiments (salt, pepper, malt vinegar…). I will eat at home.

I had a 2 piece spicy fish and it was pretty good. There isn’t a Captain D’s in California if there was I’m sure I would be back. The sweet tea was very good.

Great fish offerings, expanded side offerings, and very good service.

I question if the food is worth the wait. The food tastes great when the grease is clean, but the wait time is longer than the average fast food. No doubt
