At our Louisville, KY location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

As soon as my husband I walked thru the door were warmly welcomed. Not by just one or two staff members. By all of them. We gave our order at the end of the counter. Then drinks. Before we even had time to pay. Our order was up. Head to the dining area to eat. WOW! The dining room is spotless! Even the window sills and floors under the tables were clean against the walls! The food… Delicious! I even ate the hush puppies. I never eat hush puppies anywhere.

Stopped here last 2 weeks because they have a senior special that is a very good price. Unlike the Fern Creek location that serves sides in to go containers this location puts them on the plate both weeks green beans were not even warm and Mac n cheese barely warm. This week brought it to the managers attention so he brought me out a green bean in , guess what, a to go container piping hot. Told me 5 minutes on hot Mac n cheese. Never saw him again. I never ask for anything extra or money back or anything else, just hot food. I would have never posted this if I hadn’t been forgotten.

You are might as well close this location down! You’re going to wait 35 minutes for a two piece fish meal. The hours are whatever they make up because they’re short staffed. The food is either over cooked or undercooked are the portions are very minimal. The workers play and joke around and also argue with each other in front of customers. I’ve given this place many tries because it’s close to home and it’s always the same deal. A waste of time and money!

I was very upset that everything that I wanted, they were out of it.. baked potatoes, almost all of the soft drinks, and some of the fish. Went to the ladies room. There wasn’t any toilet paper or hand soap.

I have been going to this captain D’s for over 35 years. The last few years they have really gone down hill. But they redeemed their self with today’s visit. Service was great, food was great, fresh, hot and plentiful. Hopefully they continue with the greatness!

Food was great and fresh but it took longer than I expected to get it with me being the only person in line, in the macaroni was very fresh but it barely had any noodles in it was like a bowl of cheese which was delicious but I like my macaroni with the outside of that I will still go back!

The employees were friendly but the overall service was terrible. I waited about 15 minutes to get my order and when I did the fish were shriveled up and disgusting looking from the old grease that used, my fries were completely cold and I had to wait an additional 5 minutes for fresh fries.. by the time I got my fries the rest of my food was cold! And the general manager walks around the store joking around with the employees instead of checking on her customers and making sure everybody is taken care of. I love Captain D’s and visit several of locations across Louisville but I will be sure to avoid this location in the future.
