At our Winchester, KY location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Ordered fish and shrimp with double no salt fries. $12 for cold shrimp, leftover salty fries and old fish covered with black stuff all over it. How anyone could look at that piece of fish and think it’s good to serve I don’t know!! Would have saved time just throwing $12 out the window on my way home.

I felt it necessary to post this..I got home & out of our order..the shrimp was left out & the hushpuppies were burnt..I called..they were “closed” I offered to immediately drive back to get our completed order..Amanda said they were unable to do that..it was 9:05pm..so she took my name..we have always been very loyal customers but our last 4 drive thrus have been wrong when I got home..so we quit going for a while..I did not feel it was necessary to look in the boxes..I saw the clerk at the window check each one..so I thought they would be right..there was no one else in line so I blame her..she saw that the shrimp was missing & the pups were burnt..I told Amanda they need to be more careful..perhaps some more training for that cashier..I also had to pull up & wait for fish on the other order..I will say we will not be going again..sad because I have liked your restaurant for years..thanks for reading!

This is the worst Captain Ds Ive ever eaten at. Its never a good sign when there are broken tiles at peoples feet when walking in the door. None of the staff I saw was wearing anything close to a uniform, my wife asked what came on their lobster roll, the befuddled front line register worker proceeded to just say “I don’t know”. Our order took around 25 minutes to come out, only to find that not only were they holding on fries, but they put a few broken pieces of older fries on my plate. They also failed to give me bredsticks when I asked for them instead of hush puppies. Then when they did finally bring the fries out, some had cinnamon dust on them. Cinnamon is becoming a larger food allergy. People simply do not expect to come across this. Also a woman burned her hand in the back line, complained of it blistering but instead of being sent for treatment, she went back to cooking.

This is the slowest “fast-food” joint. Drive-thru always takes at least 15 minutes even with no one ahead of you. Today it took exactly 30 minutes with a couple customers ahead. Unfortunately we no longer have a Long John Silvers so this is the only “fast-food” option for decent seafood.

Went to captain D. Ordered our meal thru the drive thru, ask for military discount. At Drive they they say, can’t give it have to come inside. I ask if I Come inside to pay, we get the discount. He said yes. Got inside he said oh you have to dine in to get the discount. Last week, we got the discount at the drive thru. Seems like the employees don’t know. Should all be trained with the same rules. So we walked out.

Best food I have eaten in a while at a Captain D’s. Food hot and appearance was appealing. We couldn’t eat all of ours. Took it back to Indiana with us and ate the leftovers later that night and it was just as good and fresh. The drive thru service was excellent! The young man was very attentive and polite. Thanks for a wonderful visit and experience in Winchester Ky.

Love the food, but RUDE! RUDE! RUDE! I was standing in line to order it was just myself and another gentleman. The cashier who was not wearing a name tag looks around him and says to me “do you need something”? (Very hateful) I said yes I need to order, is this the line to order and she just rolled her eyes at me and went on helping the gentleman in front of me. When I finally got to order, she acted like I was bothering her. This place has really gone downhill. I used to love coming here, not anymore

I had grilled tilapia, my wife had fish and slaw. We enjoyed the food except for the hushpuppies, which were too greasy. They were understaffed, but the ladies working at that time did a very good job.
