At our Frankfort, KY location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I came to this Captain D’s with my family after a quick Wednesday trip to Michael’s and Dick’s and it was a good experience. I’d do it again. The staff was very nice and had a good sense of humor. It felt like 90% of the other customers were over the age of 65. That’s okay though! All vibes. It was relatively empty and the food was just as good as you’d expect it to be. Its not like an insanely awesome dining experience but I don’t think it needs to be. This Captain D’s knows what it is and follows that to a tee. The dining area seemed super up-to-date as well. I truly don’t understand how more people don’t go here. Good experience. I recommend.

Food was ok but the portions where small . I remember the fish cuts where big now yhey are small and slim 2 peices now make 1 single peice yrs ago. I dislike their cole slaw its never cold and the fries are not any better. Wife got country style fish the breading was a little bit salty more than usual. Dissapointed in the food tge deciled crab was more stuffing than anything else.

We eat from this location often and its usually good. Idk what they’ve changed in the last few weeks but tonight it was phenomenal! I don’t make reviews but I had to for this. Everything from the Mac and cheese to the bread roll was outstanding! The fried okra is sweet and perfect. And the salmon was great and not over done.. Whatever they changed keep it up!! The drive thru had a large number of cars in n it but went very quickly. I ordered my food within 6 minutes which was surprising to me because rarely happens anywhere else. The food I ordered was served hot and delicious. I absolutely love the green beans here. I told them at the mic when ordering food I wanted ketchup and tarter sauce and they were both already put in the bag when they gave it to me I didn’t have to ask again. Will be back

Went with my kids and they each tasted one bite of the fish and said it tasted terrible/weird. I told the manager and asked if she would replace it with chicken. Her response was “no, you got what you ordered.” Paid $31 for 3 fast food meals that were inedible. When she saw I wasn’t going away, she went to the back to talk to another manager and came back saying the chicken would be ready in 6-7 minutes. Just absolutely terrible customer service from a manager. There were a couple of guys working at the register, and they were kind.
