At our Pikeville, KY location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

1st of all, the crew was friendly and hospitable. The food, however, was not so good. The fish is obviously battered and frozen. Had it been fresh, the batter would have been fluffy. The fries were cold and had been sitting for a while. Now…enticed by the pictures up front, my husband ordered the gumbo. It took a long time to get it, and when he did, it was no more than broth and rice. And this too was not hot. The Mac and cheese had obviously been prepped and put into a holding area because, by the time he took the lid off …..well, it was awful. This was store 367747 at 12:53 pm. So, for $33.02. We will not be back. Nor will we recommend this location to anyone. Please inform Manager Greg Taylor that more training is needed about what the cooks plate, and what the servers will serve.

Stopped in for dinner on a Sunday evening and had the seafood platter. Short wait on my food that was delivered to the table when ready. The meal was great. The fish, chicken, and shrimp all tasted wonderful, and I washed it down with a tall cold Pepsi!

Don’t order the fish and chicken unless you’re 7. About 2-3 bites each. And both mine and my wife’s baked potatoes were cold. Sad part is I usually eat here and I understand everyone makes mistakes. But I paid $7 for a happy meal and didn’t even get a toy lol!
