At our Muncie, IN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.
Fast-food chain serving fried fish & shrimp combo meals along with gumbo & funnel cakes. Based on 791 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.0 stars. Price $

Food was marginal. Nothing but water or sweet tea to drink. Overall appearance was terrible, ceiling tiles missing or falling down. Walls were dirty. As we were trying to eat, there was a employee gagging and sick in the restroom. Not easy to eat with that coming from the restroom. I will probably not return and start going to Long John Silvers. Much cleaner environment. Sorry for the bad review but it is what it is.

I miss Captain D’s. So I had to make a trek back to this one. The service was good, this fish was the flavor I remember. The fried okra wasn’t bad either.

Okay full disclosure; my brain was headed to Long John Silvers because of the Lobster bites advertised. I pulled into Captain Dee’s. Turns out my wife also wanted to try the lobster rolls. I got the grilled talapia. Great food. The most outstanding thing was a young gentleman working there. He was paying attention to his surroundings and took multiple opportunities to help his co workers. Then as I was leaving he was walking across the parking lot toward the dumpsters and diverted in order to pick up a piece of trash in the lot. I hope they know a valued employee because they have one.

Excellent fried fish and shrimp! The portions are large and for about 10 dollars you can get a large meal.

Sorry to hear this location may be closing. Hopefully they are just moving to a more structurally sound location (I-beams seriously sagging in their dining room). Probably should have kept their full offerings before locking the doors. No soft drinks, no flounder, no salads, no desserts.

We went through drive-thru at Captain D’s. The staff member who took our order and gave us our food was competent and friendly. The time to get our food was unfortunately really slow. There was only one person ahead of us and he got out in fairly good time, but we didn’t. I don’t know why. It might have been a matter of the complexity of our order. The quality of the food was not bad, but it wasn’t as good as the time I went there before and had really excellent grilled fish. The price was reasonable.

I am giving 1 star because there isn’t an option for 0 stars. I’m giving 0 stars because everything all around was just horrible! The staff was rude, the food was cold and way overcooked to the point that we couldn’t even bite into it because it was so hard. I had always liked Captain D’s and was really looking forward to a great meal but boy was I disappointed. The service and quality both have just dropped horribly and I won’t be going back. Just disgusted and disappointed beyond belief.

The help was really friendly. They didn’t come ask us if we needed anything like they bragged about but that’s not a big deal, don’t expect that from fast food. The reason for 3 stars is bc I didn’t enjoy their food. It was fresh, I just didn’t think it tasted very good. Probably my first and last time going there, sorry guys.

Hubby and I love their breaded white fish dinner. It isn’t on the menu but they know what we like and cook it just right. You get the large portion of fish, hush puppies and two sides and tarter sauce or vinegar if you want. We got green beans and broccoli and they were delicious. I always find their baked potatoes a bit undercooked so I never order those anymore. Employee were nice, friendly and helpful and service was quick.

I love their food. However, the service leaves a lot to be desired. When you use the drive thru you have to press a button on the speaker box or they don’t know you’re there. Once we finally ordered they had us pull forward and we waited another 11 minutes on our food.
