At our Carbondale, IL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

If you’re craving some cheap fast delicious fried seafood this place is the place for it. I tried a variety platter that was just about everything they had I think… Fried shrimp, fried fish, crab cakes stuffed into a crab claw, and some hush puppies and fried okra and coleslaw. All of it was perfectly cooked, perfectly breaded, perfectly seasoned, and delicious! The young girl I’m assuming was high school age was absolutely sweet and delightful and very helpful. I hope her manager or store owner reads us because she definitely represents for your brand well. A fast food experience that I will definitely repeat soon and make a regular stop while I am here in Carbondale.

I love going here but it is easier to get you food if you place an order online first. They make everything to order not a bad thing just inconvenient if you are in a hurry. But everything else is great.

Had to go to 5 different tables to find a clean one. There was no ice in the machine and person working the counter was to busy complaining about another employee and had to wait for them to get us some. There was no sweet tea and water came out of the unsweet tea side. I ordered the lemon pepper fish and it was over seasoned, really bad. The rice tasted as if it was days old. Does the owner never check on this franchise location? Used to be a good place to eat. Never, never again.

Really nice worker’s and clean restaurant. There was a hair on my sandwich. They were incredibly short staffed. Only 2 workers total. The lady at the counter was doing a great job with a smile the whole time
