The food, service, and prices were all great. Hope they will add some baked/boiled/broiled options. Love fried seafood, but we cannot all eat fried now. The server was excellent. Limited deserts, but I think it was because we arrived toward the end of the day.

We went the first weekend they were open. We thought this was a new restaurant with a new owner. Nope. It’s the same as Bernie’s. The shrimp isn’t fresh. It’s frozen. It was lukewarm and the breading was falling off the shrimp. Plus, this is the first seafood place I’ve ever seen that didn’t have hushpuppies and baked potatoes with the seafood platters. We won’t be back.

Same place new name. Fish cooked well but lacked seasoning. Fried okra, mac and cheese, hushpuppies were good. Wait staff nice. Other food was bland didnt taste fresh. This is not a seafood restaurant. Having fish on the menu doesnt make you a seafood restaurant. Bernie’s is still the owner so not much has changed. Probably wont be back.

Stopped in around 7:30 and placed a to-go order for Fried Flounder with Okra and Hushpuppies, as well as an appetizer of Fried Oysters. While I was waiting, plenty of people checked up on me, and offered me water while I waited. It was explained to me that the current hours are Tuesday through Sunday, from 11am to 9pm, but that it would change to 2am closing times once their bar was finished. In addition, Tuesday through Sunday from 11am-3pm, they offer a Lunch Buffet. Regardless, I waited around 12 minutes, at which point my food was promptly brought out, and I had no hassle paying for it at the front. The Fried Flounder was excellent, enough seasoning to add flavor, but not so much as to overpower the fish. The Okra was freshly cut and battered, and tasted great. It doesnt have to perfect little cylinder shaped cut that gives it away as frozen, so A+ on that front. Hushpuppies are hushpuppies, they are good everywhere. However, the Fried Oyster really shined. Perfect golden brown crust on the outside with a warm, still oyster-like texture inside. I have had alot of fried oysters, and they always tend to burn through, and have no flavor left but the seasoning, but they were perfect at Captain Garrett’s. As an addendum, I would like to add that everyone I spoke with was extremely friendly, though I did not get all their names. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We were a little hesitate to try this restaurant as the food was not good from previous owner but they must have changed cooks because the food was good and hot. When the bar area I believe the atmosphere will be better.

I ordered a crab bucket last week. My boyfriend picked it up and by the time I got to sit down and actually open it up to see what was in my aluminum foil wrapped plate, the business was closed. Granted you get a large portion of crab legs however mine were all over cooked to the point that the actual meat was stuck inside each shell. The “jumbo” shrimps advertised on the menu were actual small salad shrimp (which should NEVER come with a crab bucket). The red russet potatoes advertised on the menu were huge chucks of white ice potatoes. NEVER AGAIN IN TRUE LIFE WILL I COME BACK. Total waste of $32!

The chicken is AMAZING!!! Not gonna lie, at first I was hesitant because with the buffet during the day, I thought the sides would be leftovers at dinner. EVERYTHING was fresh and hot and so good. We will definitely be coming back and it deserves more business.

All i see is the name was changed and some partners might be added but and i say but Bernie is still there. It says seafood but you can’t get seafood until 3 PM. Why the signs say seafood but im seeing Bernie’s food. Gizzards and livers were well over cooked, meatloaf looked dried out and mac n cheese was hard. It don’t matter what was changed if the same is being seen and served when it comes to food. Our last trip to Captain Garretts Seafood/ Bernie’s hmmmmm

Three seafood items (Shrimp, tilapia, catfish) on a Buffett doesn’t mean your a seafood restaurant. Changing the name of a failed restaurant and adding these three items to the original Buffett doesn’t fool anyone. The price for lunch was great that is where the one star comes to play!
