Had a great lobster roll and fries. Also tried the fish and chips. Both were classic and consistent. What kept me from a 5 star was that the lobster roll was $29. Granted, the bun was packed with lobster and served with a heap of shoestring fries, but it wasn’t anything special. The location is great though for a summer lunch outside.

Holy Smokes! We’re in Western Mass from Florida visiting the five colleges. Have never been to the New England area and knew we had to have a real lobster roll while here. I can honestly say this was the first real true lobster roll I have eaten and it was NOT a disappointment.

They serve cold lobster rolls. The fish and chips portion size is huge and is a little on the less salty taste.

The lobster roll was really yummy! Seems like a large portion as it was falling out of the roll, but the roll was small so maybe that was the case! It was $29 for the roll with fries, ehich isnt a bad price. Otherwise it was a good roll, we had the clam plate too and it was okay, a little fishy and not seasoned or anything really. The fries were also just okay, kind of cold and soggy, had to season myself.

We really enjoy our visit to Captain Jack’s Roadside Shack! The location even has EV charging station and the set up overall was very nice. We visited on a lovely early evening on a Friday night, and it was quite busy there. We lined up and placed an order, our food was ready promptly. My lobster roll was very generous in portion. Meanwhile, my husband’s fish and chips was quite interesting. Overall, it was very enjoyable visit and the open picnic area was a delight!

First time eating here after a recommendation from my daughter. This place is a little different… Like a food truck but in a fixed structure. Biggest draw was the lobster roll. Rave reviews from those who had it. Fish and chips and fried chicken sandwich were also very good. Fries were crisp and tasty. The onion rings were thinly sliced and a must buy.

Everytime I come here the food is on point. It’s hot, fresh and savory. My favorite is the lobster roll with French fries on a butterd and grilled bun. I get. Better cuts of lobster here than I do in capecod!! I get whole claws with big meaty pieces. Come down to captain Jack’s Roadside Shack. You won’t be disappointed.

FRESH. Really solid place, super fresh food. It’s usually very busy, long lines. Park in the bear co-op parking lot. They have outdoor seating. Their lobster rolls have a ton of lobster meat on them. I have to rate them a 4/5 because the tables aren’t cleaned too often. Their main item, the item that they’re known for – the lobster roll is a bit expensive and I they know it. Their overhead isn’t that much it’s a tiny building, a literal shack, you don’t need to charge $29 for a lobster roll. I know lobster is expensive but not $29 sorry. They serve other things like fish tacos. Again very fresh, they use a sweet coleslaw on the fish tacos and their tarter sauce is creamy. It’s not bad. Their fries are decent. The Arnold palmer was pretty bad though. All in all its a decent place, somewhere I will come back to but not daily. Like I said a solid 4/5 and any of the negative things are not food related. The points taken off are due to price (overcharging on their main item), dirty seating, closing early at 7pm, being closed Mondays andTuesdays, and the long lines and wait times.

Found something different, the parking was a little complicated but well worth it . Good size portions. Reasonable priced. The whole belly clams were big. All was good, I just think the menu could be expanded a little bit more, if they already have clams, lobster rolls and scallops why not add fried shrimp. I would give them a 4.7 out of 5.
