Captain Jon’s Subs and Bakery was started by Jon Streat, after serving 31 years and soon to retire as Captain for the DC Fire Department. Together, he and his wife, Della Streat, have begun to serve the Prince Frederick community with delicious subs and baked goods. We believe in giving great tasting foods at a great price. Our subs are packed full of meat with as many toppings as you desire! We have the BEST baked goods in town and can guarantee you’ll leave our shop with a smile, as we always make it an appoint to serve our guests with Grade A customer service!

I can’t even begin to tell you how much we loved the sub shop. We are vegan, and they took the time to explain the many options they had. They even have vegan mayo and Beyond burgers. We got subs, wraps, and vegan oatmeal cookies. Everything was fantastic. They were just the most friendly people and they came around to greet our small children. They also surprised us with some extra goodies. This is truly a gem.

Stopped in after a delivery. Great local small business sub shop. Fresh made the owner and son super friendly and definitely feel the pride in their menu. I snagged a “medical” and a slab of coconut cake. Wow! ooof huge stuffed sub bread is fresh and GET THE CANDY SAUCE! That stuff alone needs to be bottled & sold. I had to save half the sub but will absolutely come back!! Thanks so much for a great lunch

I highly recommend Captain Jon’s. It’s family owed, the staff is wonderful and friendly, which makes for an inviting atmosphere. The food is delicious and plentiful. I have visited several times and each time has been very satisfying… from the cold subs, steak and cheese, cookies and cakes. Pace yourself as you will put yourself in a food coma for an hour or two .

Stopped in on Saturday afternoon. Happy to support local business! One customer in front of me. Order was taken timely, I had three sandwiches. Steak and Cheese (×2) and Medical Alert. Cheese options were nice, got provolone and melted cheese for the steak and Swiss on the medical. Lemme tell ya, these sammies were hefty! There was no skimping on the meats. Good flavor and the medical had a garden salad inside. Definitely will return.

First time eating at Captain Jon’s today. I ordered a “box alarm” sub…. I haven’t had a sun this good and this well stuffed with meat since I last ate at Marchones (sp) in the Wheaton triangle in Montgomery County. If you’re from Silver Spring or Wheaton likely you e heard of or eaten there. This sun rivals those subs of old in the triangle. Well done Captain Jon’s!! Well done!
