If there are two words to describe this place it’s “massive portions”. Seems like everyone who left Captain’s Choice the day we visited had take home containers with them. My wife and I both had lobster rolls with fries, the Misses had sweet potato fries for a dollar extra. The lobster rolls were huge and packed with lobster. We both barely were able to finish our meals and ready for a food coma.

This place was not crowded at all like i had originally anticipated. I think going to dinner with friends on a thursday was the absolute right thing to do! Aesthetically gave me joes crab shack vibes or old skippers from back in the day, however the food was phenomenal. Probably some of the best Dungeness crab ive have at least in recent memory. We also got the snow crab and again, some of the best crab ive had in recent memory. We got our boil with shrimp, crab, sausage, potatoes, corn, mushrooms and two different seasonings. Garlic and ol bay. You also get to choose your spicy level, mild, medium, hot. We also had a few different appetizers, chicken wings, cole slaw, catfish and fried calamari. My one and only complaint would have to be the calamari, not done well at all and didn’t care for the breading. The catfish was done perfectly, seasoned well and breading was tasty and not overdone. Would certainly recommend this place to any seafood lover and would definitely return in the future!

So gotta say I was very impressed by this place from the food to the beautiful atmosphere. Now, for my real brother and sisters who love that Cajun cooking, don’t go in with high expectations. The boil sauce is to die for hands down. Their fries are bomb. The fries are quite different. Portions are worth the price. Clean bathrooms. Customer service is ok, didn’t like that they never came to the table to ask about my meal so when i needed more condiments, i literally had to ask another server, hence my 4 star. I enjoyed my dish.

Didn’t have a very strong opinion coming here because I’m from out of area. But I was tempted so I tried it out. So far absolutely love the clam chowder. Has a different spice to it. Not just creamy but also has a little bit of a Cajun kick. Has a seafood chain vibe. And very good service

Went here last weekend and the food was so delicious. We got the boil, jambalaya and claim chowder. The favor of chowder was good but the texture was kinda odd. The waitress was kinda unfriendly when we asked questions but the atmosphere was not bad

Cajun joint that kind of feels like a chain, but I don’t think it is. It has a nautical theme with a Captain Morgan looking figure on the entrance. Fake fish dangle from a net on the ceiling. There’s a huge odd projection of a sort of fantasy aquarium. The whole place is run by Chinese people. The food is pretty good. We ordered gumbo, jambalaya and crawfish etouffee. All three had good flavor. All three of us had lunch for under $60. Ample parking. Check out my profile for more great eateries and cocktail bars.

My partner and I visited here for dinner. We had the Lobster Roll and the Fish & Chips. Both dishes were amazing and the service was excellent.

The best Cajun seafood in Portland without a doubt and maybe best this side of the Rockies. Located in a nondescript place on Broadway, my wife was craving crab and we had been reading the good reviews for the quality and taste of seafood here. The Captain’s Choice did not disappoint! The flavor of the Cajun sauce was phenomenal and the Dungeness crab combo was full of delicious meat. Cajun fries, sweet corn, my oh my. Heaven. They had to roll us out. We will be going back here again and again. Skip the 1 hour+ line at Bag o crabs and walk straight in here. Don’t let the cheesy (and kind of wonderful) aquatic theme fool you. Dine here and you won’t be sorry.

We each had a seafood boil. It was awesome! We wore our bibs and ate until we wanted to explode. Seafood was delicious, thought the price for as much as we got was very worth it. Crawfish, lobster, shrimp and boyfriend had crab too. Seafood was meaty, not skimpy at all! Lots of flavor and heat customization. We had medium, it was definitely spicy. Service was very nice. Nice sitting area. Look forward to them getting their olcc license so adult beverages are available. I would like to go back and try the lobster roll and a po boys. Try it out
