Amazing. Nick and his team here have something special. Pizza was excellent, not too over cooked which can commonly happen with fire roasted pizzas. Great to see a new concept added to the downtown restaurant lineup. Cool to see the pizzas and everything prepared right up front. Cheesy bread was awesome. We will definitely be going back. My son said on a scale of 1-10, it was a 12

THE place to get Pizza in Brighton. Not only are owners Nick and Lauren the perfect addition to the community, but their pizza is TOP NOTCH. Their brand, attitudes, service and product is what being authentic is all about. They support local farmers, brews, sodas and coffee – bringing it all together in a great atmosphere. We cannot wait to see where and what Captains on Main evolves too! Definitely stop in and enjoy all they offer!

I moved to Michigan from New Haven County, CT about 17 years ago. I spent the first 16 years complaining about the pizza in the towns I have lived in. Captain’s changes everything. The thin-crust style is perfect for my taste and the slightly crunchy/chewy texture has only improved since we have been going. Impressive work and an impressive amount of pizza produced out of one wood-fired oven. I also commend them on the quality of ingredients, which go above and beyond what you usually find at local pizza spots. The focus on a few delicious, specialty pizzas works well as it directs costumers like myself to what they view as their signature pies (but you can always get your classic toppings). Even my two-year-old son loves the truffle shuffle and we tend to stop in every couple of weeks to enjoy a few slices. The drink options (beer, soda, and coffee alike) are also a step above what you often find in the area. Beyond that, the staff are friendly and accommodating. I hope Captain’s remains a Brighton mainstay until they decide it’s time to hang up the apron and retire. My only question; how are they going to fit a second oven in there once the word gets out?

As a fellow downtown business owner, I wanted support another downtown business for lunch today! I wandered to Captains on Main from my office and was greeted by smiling faces! The food was amazing, and the atmosphere is very unique- unlike other pizza shops! I will definitely be back. Love supporting local businesses.

I came here to meet a friend. It’s the first coffee shop I’ve visited in Brighton. I was happy to find that they offer everything you would expect from a basic coffee shop (i.e. WiFi, coffee, pastries, etc) and then some. In the summer, there is a neat outdoor patio. The parking lot directly behind the building was free and ample.

I Love Capitan’s Woodfire Pizza. The food is amazing and the good vibes are felt top to bottom. All of the staff is professional and kind. We have even hired their food truck for our grad party. People are still taking about our party a year later.

I was looking for a coffee place to study. This place has yummy coffee with the coffee place vibe but also has delicious pizza and beer. Fits any mood and stays open longer than most coffee shops. The people working were very kind and attentive as well. I will definitely be back.

Wow. Wow. Wow. First and foremost, GO ELSEWHERE. There are no words for what we just encountered. With children, swearing at customers is beyond unacceptable. I have never been in my life been in a situation like this, especially as restaurant and bar owners! We came as a soccer team, and unfortunately there were supposedly were some marks on a chalkboard that we without question paid for a brand new chalkboard. A cashier there, who swore at us IN FRONT OF OUR CHILDREN and had a female manager on speaker who also was also swearing (although there was a manager present so calling the other manager was totally pointless) behavior was not only bizarre but completely unnecessary. This entire interaction left us all confused, shaken and our kids upset. The manager literally accused one of the fathers of sticking his tongue out at him…. Really??!!!! PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE. Other places deserve the business.
