Old Rusty / Time Fork
I started going here as a Kid, and kept going as an adult, until they turned to garbage. They had great sandwiches and soup, for decades. Recently, things changed. The food is now below average, at best. I’ve never seen such a decline in a sandwich shop. It’s incredible.

I’ve been coming here regularly for over 10 years and it never disappoints. I always get the Turkey Club and a Split Pea Soup. About $10 for a very quality and filling lunch.

It was a few years since I was at Captain Nemo’s. They shut down to the one restaurant in Winnetka,IL. Subs still tasted the same from what I remember. Planning on going back next month. Due to costs they had to cut some subs from the menu.

How sad is it there’s only one Nemo’s location left and it’s not even in Chicago? I used to go to the one on Ashland until it closed rather suddenly a few years ago. Now even the original one in Rogers Park closed because a bureaucrat at city Hall was refusing to renew their food service license until they paid some old fine left over from the Ashland location (seemingly they closed it to resolve whatever the issue was, well the city logged it as a fine anyway and then held their RP location hostage for it). So the owner closed that one too, and now Nemo’s is only in this one last spot in the North Shore suburbs.

Really delicious freshly made variety of subs, served hot or cold, tasty chilli and soups, homemade browinies and assorted of drinks. They even have a sub made with liverwurst that is pretty good. Truly worth a visit.

Always loved the subs. After closing the Clark location may I suggest the old Galloway sub shop locations in Crystal lake on Rakow Rd or the Algonquin location in Meiers foods.

Historic sandwich shop in Winnetka. Wide variety of cold and hot sandwiches offered as well as soups, chips, and other sides. Service has always been quick and kind. Sandwiches are one-of-a-kind and are perfect for a day at the beach or a quick lunch.

Turkey subs and split pea soup delicious. Roast beef in sub tasted old and corn bread was disappointing. Quick and friendly service. If not for beef, would have rated 4 stars.
