The pictures of the Boodle Box look great, right? I mean, what’s not to like in those pictures? The colors are fantastic, the amount and variety of different dishes in one container are things that most of us find appealing and the price is great for what you get… all good stuff, right? Yes, for most, I’m guessing… for adventurous people who want to try out Philippine cuisine that don’t know any better, that do not know what good Filipino food should taste like.

Worst example of Filipino food, fusion or not! When you first opened, the food was great! What happened?! I think you need Filipino people back in there to work! The sisig is NOT SISIG anymore. Wth are you doing giving our kababayan a bad name with this misrepresentation of our food. Everything we ordered was soggy and gravy like! My sisig tacos were so soggy they fell apart. The adobo chicken and sisig had a thick gravy sauce, garlic rice was clumpy and soggy, no taste of garlic! Only good was the ube soft serve. DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU WANT REAL Filipino style cuisine! What a joke! For better Filipino food, try Kapatad or Lil Mama’s

Okay I came here to try. I usually go to Lil Mamas but decided try this place. Looks visually appealing ordering sisig with garlic rice combo and pansit was all too salty together. If choosing these plain white rice is best. Good pickled onions but taste of sisig I did not care for. The sauce on the bottom was overpowering. First bite was okay but after that no bueno. The sweet longanisa isn’t the traditional longanisa I’m used to. It’s Patties but still the taste well that’s not Filipino. The lechon kawali you can’t really mess up and flavor was on point but some pieces were chewier than others. I don’t care for those. Maybe cook 5min longer/broil. Restroom was clean and small but decent dining area/cafe. Service fast. Very busy takeout and me myself and I dining in but I did come off hours (Linner)

This place was mediocre compared to what I expected it to be. The pork was decent but the garlic rice was pretty bad. My wife enjoyed her birria tacos.

First time at the restaurant, small and cozy. You have to order through the kiosk; credit/debit card only. The Caradobo fries and Pork Belly Sisig Birria tacos were fresh and hot. The meat in the tacos was well seasoned and tender for the most part. The tacos were a little greasy, but still great. The fries could have used a little more seasoning. I enjoyed the fresh jalapeno peppers on the fries and the the drizzled mayo. The meals were well proportioned as well. I had to purchase the drink separately. I will definitely be returning.

Four of us had lunch today in Carabao Express. The resto is clean; wall leaf mural is appealing. Self-order was a breeze. The food though was very disappointing. Pancit had an unfamiliar taste to it. Hubby said it must be the soy sauce you used. Our suggestion – please do not use that soy sauce or that ingredient. Chicken inasal tasted like dried adobo. Lechon kawali lacked its characteristic crispiness and was bland. For the turon, did you use canned banana? We did eat the food; we just did not enjoy them. The fifty four dollar meal was not worth the price. If I may suggest, please get an authentic Pinoy chef to help you improve the taste of the food offerings.

Carabao Express food is horrible. This is NOT how Filipino food should be.

Good Filipino food for an excellent price. I got the boodle box which was way more food than I needed. Two people could easily enjoy it. But it was very good! One of the pork entres I got on it was great and so was the garlic rice. Overall I think the value to food quality ratio is super solid which is one of the things I look for when eating out. Another plus is that there aren’t many Filipino places in the area (that I know of), which makes Carabao Express a unique experience. Will be back!

I’ve ordered from here 3 times now since they opened last year, twice for delivery and once for pickup today. For the most part, I’ve ordered something different to try out and each time, was left a little disappointed. Maybe I’m just not ordering at the best time? Here are my thoughts:

I’ve never been to prison but I assume a mound of tasteless lukewarm mush would resemble what I experienced in this sticky-floored restaurant. Should have left as the first red flag was that the place was completely empty during lunch time – only flies filled the room.
