Very expansive list of beers on tap. Friendly, attentive and helpful staff. Good atmosphere. Ordered some wings. Today’s pick was 4 half orders of Hot (Extra Saucy), Southern Comfort BBQ, Medium & Thai Raspberry. Not my favorite wings, don’t get it twisted they’re good and it’s a good spot to get them. Again, excellent beer options.

Arrived around dinner hour and didn’t seem very busy but servers seemed to be flustered. First server came over to see if we would like drinks but once we did not know as soon as we sat she said she would come back but we never saw her again at our table. Then the second server arrived and said there was a “situation” with the wings (keep in mind it is wing night) and they didn’t have them to serve. So we told him we would need a second to look over the menu as we had our hearts set on wings for wing night. We never saw him return to our table but he was seen stopping at all the tables around us. We could over hear the next table order wings after our table was told about the situation and there was no issue what so ever. They lacked employees and seemed to be running a two man show. Seem to lack management and communication.

We were headed to Canada for my step-Father’s funeral. Not a joyous time, though he was 99 years old when he died. Stopped half way and stayed at the Quality Inn. The gentleman at the hotel suggested Carey’s and oh, we owe him a big “thank you”. Had great beer, super delicious fried pickles, shared a Cuban( need to use different bread) and had a recommended desert of chocolate mousse cake with a raspberry beer. That desert was the suggestion of the bartender, waiter. He said, and I quote, “if Heaven had a flavor, this would be it”. He was totally right! What a great place! We loved it! Thank you for a great respite on our way to a not so pleasant destination.

Life can be complicated with all of it’s twists and turns, ups and downs. But places like this remind us that it’s okay to take time to relax, enjoy each other’s conversation, and have some delicious food while we’re at it. From familiar faces, to new one’s, the welcoming atmosphere let’s you know this is a place of rest and good company. Does this establishment have it’s imperfections? Yes, as well as any other place. But one thing that can be said about Carey’s is this…it’s a family run restaurant and you’ll be treated like family rather than a stranger.

Love the food. French iron soup was special. Best we ever had. Love the outdoor seating. Love our server. Food was important but friendly service was even more important. Thank you, and sorry we didn’t get your name.

We had a wonderful waitress, only I didn’t catch her name. The food was excellent, huge portions & reasonable prices. What more could you want?⁸

The Staff were very helpful & polite. This was our first time eating there and they made great suggestions for drinks and appetizers. The meal was fantastic with huge portions and the atmosphere was great. On the way out, we saw their outside dining and cannot wait to take advantage of that with warmer weather.

Memorably combines a bar with an art gallery, exhibiting sculptures and paintings. Other décor includes the “Periodic Tables of Beers,” which is amusing. The food is outstanding, especially the BBQ pulled porker and potato skins. There are around THIRTY beers on tap, especially local microbrews. The bathroom is clean and the wi-fi is fast. Parking streetside is generally uncomplicated. In November 2021 the Steuben County Libertarian Party hosted Larry Sharpe at this location.
