I haven’t been to the actual location, but Cargies catered to an fundraising event I supported (church youth program in Cobleskill). Having grown up in Florida, it’s often difficult to find good southern cookin’ up here in New York, and I sometimes miss the taste of home. That half chicken BBQ dinner took me back, and, pardon my french, was the best damn food I’ve had in a good long while! Only thing missing was the fried green tomatoes! I can’t wait for the next time they cater. Definitely worth the drive from my home in Albany! As a side note, that Cole slaw was on point, and I could tell the chicken was made with love. Perfect amount of brine and seasoning, fell off the bone and melted in my mouth! Great job Cargies!

I stopped here on a whim while traveling for work and looking for somewhere easy to get lunch. While I had to wait a few minutes to be served, it was worth it! I ordered their specialty brisket sandwich with a small size of pasta salad. The salad was good, but the sandwich was OUTSTANDING. I cannot emphasize enough how surprising this meal was to me in a sort-of hole in the wall location. I’m going to make sure to stop by for another sandwich anytime I’m driving down I-88.
