It is a common thing for people to assume an island bar & grill can only be from Jamaica although there are dozens of other islands in the Caribbean. We use spices from different islands like Haiti, Belize, Puerto-Rico, Jamaica, etc…

Nice, cute quaint, clean atmosphere with a good vibe and nice island music. The drinks were on point-shout out to Candy our server and mixologist who made the delicious drinks. Now onto the food some items were good like the beef patties, diced sweet potatoes and empanadas. Was a bit disappointed about the jerk wings. The sauce put on top was good however, it needs to be seasoned first and not dependent on the sauce. The beef short ribs is a good menu option. They were tender and had a good flavor but was missing something and it was warm not hot. I was disappointed with the rice and beans it was mushy however, it was taken off the bill. I am an island girl and one thing for certain two things for sure is that the jerk and the rice peas/beans and rice should be on point. I am all about flavor & would recommend they work on that. I will try them one more time given they are new to this location & service and other items were good.

I had went here today with a group representing Lake County and the service, food, atmosphere was great and I felt welcome and high vibes! I had the salmon mango tacos with plantains and it was the best salmon and salsa I ever had! High compliments to the chef and server!

Service when we got there was outstanding! Candy was very welcoming and her hospitality was refreshing. The food has so much flavor and tasty. I would recommend this cute place to anyone.. You will not be disappointed. Love the smooth and relaxing music. Last but not least the drinks!!!!!!! If you want to hang out and have drinks and a good time locally, this is the place!

Now ya boy has well over 2million viewers on this here platform and I mustvsay and state this PLACE HANDS DOWN HAS THE BEST TASTING MOUTH WATERING SAUCES AND SEASONINGS I HAVE EVER HAD. SALMKN SALAD BEST IN ILLINOIS “YES” KEEP that sauce a secret and the chef seasoning hands. Cooks the salmon like it told him how to prepare ME! Lol. Five stars please go!!!! Food is great on the right day, but not consistently. The service could be better, it seems as though food services may be new to the hired help. Had the ginger salmon with a savory honey lime sauce along with sweet potatoes beans and rice that was delicious the first time but not so good on another occasion.
