Ok so I love the fact there is a West Indian restaurant in de middle of southern GA. Being from Trinidad and growing up in NY, there are so many roti shops. As you walk in, it definitely gives off that NY vibe! From the set up to the music, drinks and snacks! We met the owner and he offered us a glass of rum punch for Father’s Day! Which by de way was sooo good. We got doubles, extra barra, oxtail/ rice & peas, saltfish & bake! The food definitely reminded me of home, the only thing I would add is a little more Chana in de doubles & saltfish. The flavor was a little lighter than I am use to, but I understand being in a whole different area heightened flavors can be overwhelming for others who don’t eat these type of food daily.

Just found this place about 2 months ago, and I am very happy to have a Trini spot close by. You can’t get these Trini staples at the Jamaican spots in the area.

I am from Guyana and the food is not representative of Guyana. The fried rice, chowmien was full of sugar, and the curry was too watery. My mom’s cooking is so much better. The best tasting thing I got was the tennis rolls and bread, which are not made in house. Furthermore, it was too expensive for a lot bones in everything food no meat at all just bones with a dash of meat.

I think it has much potential. Maybe cover the food up so it obtains its freshness. My veggie plate wasn’t so fresh. Veggies were a little watery. Cabbage tasted like kimchi, that’s not what I was expecting. Plantains were soggy. Greens could’ve been better. I love Caribbean food so I have high expectations especially when I spend my money. I suggest tasting the food before actually serving it to make sure it’s great. If you love it, we’ll love it! Take me to Trinidad ! I wanna feel like I’ve went to trini when I eat the food. The lady is nice but as a foodie, I’m sharing my experience and opinion. I’ve came a few times.

I’ve had roti from here to NYC and I must say this place has THE best tasting roti I’ve ever had. SOFT AND OH SO YUMMY!! Food tasted so good it almost made me want to cry…YES, it was that good! My wife and I ended up going to buy more for next days dinner! The pumpkin, peas and roti! WOW!!! Amazing!! The staff is very helpful and kind plus the prices are great! And finally, we are so glad they are here now and local, glad they are here! Best of everything Chef Lou’s and we’ll be back!!

I tried this place and was so excited to try the food. However, the curry chicken was more bones than meat, however, it was tasty. I wish my dahl was thicker, it was thin to me but tasty. I was a little bit disappointed to say the least. I will try again though because it did smell good. On a good note, the establishment is clean and the people are friendly.

Before writing this review, I decided to look and see what others said about this restaurant, after reading over a few reviews and the response that the owner sent back, I will not waist much of my precious time explaining my dissatisfaction. Just know that I will not recommend anyone to your restaurant and you will NEVER receive another dollar from my pocket. Rudeness and lack of customer service will get your business closed quickly.

Since moving here from VA, it’s been challenging to find Caribbean spots that haven’t dumbed down the food cause folks think it’s too spicy, or the food is uninspired. This place has delicious authentic food, delicious and definitely inspired! I had the chow mein with some sweet and sour chicken, and my wife had goat roti. The food is amazing, and the staff is friendly. We will definitely be back!
