I ordered a pulled pork plate with baked beans and slaw to go. It was ready in less than 5 minutes, but keep in mind this was mid afternoon. Friendly cashier, great experience. Everything was delicious, but most delicious was the “on special” blackberry cobbler.

My must-go place when visiting B’Ham. The ribs & brisket are good but the pulled pork seems to be the stable 5* for me. The Mac & Cheese can be ‘rich’ and the beans are always good. The tea is sweet and the customer service is right out of the southern hospitality manual.

I’ve been wanting to try Carlile’s for a while and finally got a chance. This place is OLD SCHOOL, which I love. I ordered the pork sandwich with two sides. Everything was really good. The pork was juicy and had a good amount of smoke. It’s certainly up there with some of the best BBQ I’ve had in Birmingham. It was good value, too. $10 for a sandwich and two sides is hard to beat, at least in this day and age. Their hours make it a little hard for me to get down there often, but I’ll definitely be back the next chance I get.

My Uncle Jimmy and I eat here together often. The food is always outstanding, and the servers and cooks are so friendly. You’ll be hard pressed to find better BBQ, and the peach cobbler is top notch, as are the fresh cut fries. The building doesn’t look like much from the outside, but that’s often true of the best places. You won’t regret a meal spent here.
