I use to live in Sylvester, Georgia .Back in the early 1970’s , I was 17 years old. I would very often walk with my friends down town to Carltons to get a bag of their hamburgers. Great hometown carryout eatery that has served Sylvester for over 25 years. Great place to pick up an in-expensive quick bite. The Hamburgers and Hotdogs are tasty. Ladies prepping sandwiches are fast and friendly.

Tried their scrambled hamburgers for the first, which my father recommended and they were fantastic! You’ve got to get them with onions!!!! Soooo good, I definitely recommend and I will definitely be visiting them again, VERY SOON!

I went to Carlton’s yesterday and I was very polite when I came in I spoke and said hey how are y’all doing today without no response I let that go like ok maybe they didn’t hear me so I ordered 5 double cheeseburgers and 2 chilli cheese dogs one woman was nice but the oldest woman at the register seemed very rude I’ll leave the other ‘R’ word out but I got those type of vibes from the older one. The food was ok but the hotdogs weren’t very good at all. Also it’s 2022 and they don’t accept debit cards like are you serious it’s 2022 you have to start accepting debit card and get out of being stuck in the 50’s. Before I came in it was a white guy in front of me I can tell they knew him and they treated him very well. But when it was my turn to order it was like the woman at the register was mad I came to get some food from them. I drove from Albany just to try them out it was ok but the customer service and lack of being able to pay with your credit or debit card really is a deal breaker. I wouldn’t really suggest going until they change the way they treat customers and get a card reader because it’s just ridiculous that you can’t pay with your debit card. But other than the customer service, the hotdogs, and not being able to pay for your food with a debit card in 2022, it was ok I’ll give it 2 stars.

Now at age 42 I remember this place from around age 4.. It is a part of my childhood and a beacon of light. Though only a simple loose meat burger joint, it has made an impact on thousands and I will miss it terribly when it eventually is gone.
