I cannot say enough good things about Carmen’s. I’d give them a thousand stars if I could. The empanadillas are phenomenal, but the real shining star here is their desserts. I loved the flan, but the bread pudding blew my mind. It’s delicious. All the employees are very kind and thoughtful, and just a joy to interact with. They clearly take pride in their work and have a passion for the food they make. Carmen’s is an absolute must-visit in Rochester – and go on Thursday for the bread pudding!!

This place is a GEM. Carmen is an artist, and her husband is so welcoming and friendly. It was like eating at my mom’s house. AND THE FOOOOOOOD…absolutely delicious. Homemade soup, fresh pressed sandwiches, Puerto Rican classics, and creative dishes daily as Carmen let’s inspiration direct her artful cooking. We love this place and will be back regularly. ❤️❤️❤️

I ate lunch here today, and it was amazing. Literally one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. Although I should specify it is a pressed sandwich. I got this sandwich with shredded beef that had been cooked in some kind of almost sweet sauce, and the sandwich also has onions, tomato, and spinach. But the bread was perfect. It was thin and crunchy, like it should be, without ever being dry or too crumbly. Excellent flavor. And the side dish I got was shredded fried plantains. I’ve eaten so many fried plantains, but never shredded. And more should be, because these were perfectly crunchy, almost like a shoestring potato. And finally, the staff were so kind and professional, and felt very genuinely nice. All in all it was an excellent experience and I definitely recommend it.

Just on personality and friendliness alone, Carmen’s is 5 stars. Their food guarantees it. Good lord, come here!

The very first time I came here I met the owners who were extremely friendly and kind. They prepared my food quickly and the rice and beans with pork “mini” meal fed me 2x, cost less than $10, and was the best meal from a Spanish restaurant I’ve EVER had! The second trip (within 2 weeks) I tried the beef and chicken empanada, wow! They were both amazing and the sauce it comes with is delightful! If you haven’t been here? Run don’t walk! I can’t wait to try all of their dishes! The owners are the best and everything is so affordable with great portions!!! ❤️❤️❤️

So good! Although we ordered takeout, I would eat in next time. Clean restaurant and smells so good from the cooking. Tangy, tasty mac salad. Crispy, tasty empanadillas. A very filling, delicious sandwich with crispy grilled onions and shaved pork and steak inside. No room in my tummy for the desserts that looked great. Friendliest service I have had in a long time too! Need to go back and keep supporting this place.

You are greeted by a super nice family. The food is delicious and the menu has something for the whole family. Cuban is real deal, that thin crust, spot on. Pernil well seasoned, moist & tender. Don’t skip dessert, Budin is amazing. Support local!

Absolutely incredible food. The vegetarian/vegan options were outstanding. Highly recommend the Beyond Beef Empanadilla and the Veggie Crumble Alcapurrias-they were perfectly cooked and spiced. Tres Leches Cake was wonderfully fluffy and light. Owners/staff were also very friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely be back!

Carmen’s Cooking is a really good restaurant. The host Carmen and Andy are super kind and thoughtful people, and every single experience becomes special! I had Mini Meal which has rice and beans (sooooo good, you can buy rice portion separately to take home as well!) and shiitake mix! This was vegan meal. Also my boyfriend had Savory and Juicy Perníl and you can order it without cheese so that you can have as a dairy free meal! It was amazing, you must go!!
