The food was very good and served nicely. This place has a very authentic vibe. Service was great and fast. The portion size was big enough for a very reasonable price. Would recommend trying this place for some good Japanese food!!

The service is great. This is a small and quaint Japanese restaurant. The atmosphere is nice. The owners are from Hiroshima and their Hiroshima okonomiyaki is so Ono! This is now one of our favorite restaurants to go to when we are in town.

Food was above average – not better than mainland SF or LA – but very decent for local dive. The servers were attentive and actually helpful in an unobtrusive non-bothersome way. Atmosphere is very casual, mixed crowd. Parking underground kind of sucks, but that’s not the restaurant’s fault and not reflected in the rating – it’s just fyi. A solid recommendation.

I went three times to this place, but only ate there twice. I originally rated them 5 stars because the first time was a good experience and their food is really good; we went during lunchtime. The second time we showed up for dinner and didn’t know we had to make a reservation, the lady at the front was rude and talked to us like we should have known this; she said we could wait 45-60 mins to be seated, we left that day. The third time we got there early, I didn’t realize it because the time was different on the door vs. Google maps; I was not paying attention to the hours. The door was open, so I walked in. The lady at the front said they were not open yet and asked me to wait out side, I looked at the sign outside and realized we had 30 mins to wait. We were the first in line to get into the restaurant. When opening time came around, nobody came to let the people know we could come in, so 5 mins later, I opened the door and asked if we could come in yet. The lady said yes and placed us at a table. There were four other small groups. We were seated first, placed our order second, and received our food last. When we went to pay, we were going to leave a cash tip so we didn’t put a tip on our receipts. The lady who was at the front desk got attitudes and repeated herself several times, “Was the food not good.” It caught us off guard, and I finally replied with “yes, the food was good. Why are you asking?”. She said because you didn’t leave a tip. She continued with her attitude and made comments about how we should have said something… I finally got a word in and told her we left a cash tip, and then her attitude changed. She said thank you and have a nice day. Everything up until that point, I let go, but that ruined this place for me.

Amazing! Really good authentic Japanese izakaya. Can really recommend the ‘chef’s choice sticks’. And everything else we had – down to the drinks – was just delicious

Shoyu ramen was a solid 8/10. Order the the $12 valve set, which was a solid 7/10. The grill pork is a 9/10, and would highly recommend. The setting of the place is a bit small but it’s 100% a vibe to be there. Waiters refilled my water without me asking. I would give this place a good 8.25/10

The food was a hit and miss but most of their skewers were great. I highly recommend their ox tongue and hamachi sushi dish. The place was under-staffed but the food came out very quick

This place was great! We unintentionally arrived during early happy hour and got a Sapporo draft pitcher for only $12! We tried a couple of different yakitori sets, and they were all great. They have limited seating. Service was friendly. We are now Carp fans
