everything was very underwhelming, i asked for my wings crispy and received the complete opposite, i feel shorted on the fries, in the photo that’s all i received, and the wings lacked flavor and lacked the sauce i requested. i would’ve give 2 stars if i wasn’t over charged for a processing fee that i tried to avoid by paying cash. this really disappoints me because i used to love ordering from cars, now i don’t know if i could say the same

I used to love this place honestly but the last time I ordered makes me not want to order again. They gave me my fries unseasoned and they were soggy. Also my buffalo wings barely had any sauce on them all you tasted was plain chicken. The Mac and cheese bites are starting to taste bad the outside was hot and like cooked but the Mac&cheese inside was cold. And for the price you pay which is kinda a lot it’s sad the food isn’t good. I didn’t want to go back and complain so I’m just leaving this here.

We read about Cars today and couldn’t believe we never went here before. Been living in Montclair for 10 years. So many fat sandwiches we could have consumed in that time! They were fantastic! The milkshakes were really good too which was a surprise. I rarely find a place that can make a good milkshake that isn’t an ice cream parlor.

“My experience at CARS in Montclair, NJ was quite disappointing. The lady we suspect to be the manager, along with the cashier, spoke in hushed tones and seemed disinterested in being there. It’s worth mentioning that we used to work there, so we’re familiar with the place. To make matters worse, the onion rings I ordered were undercooked. The overall vibe was far from pleasant, and I feel compelled to call out Rich and AJ. The decline in quality is evident – the food and service no longer match what CARS used to be. It’s unfortunate to see such a shift in standards.”

I was in the area and Cars was on my to-try list since I no longer have fat sandwiches nearby. Went with the 8″ Fat Tony as it’s usually my grease trucks go-to. Overall, it’s a good sandwich and what I was hoping for. A little heavier on the fries than the other ingredients and the sauce was a bit more herb-y than I prefer, but that’s a personal thing.

Excellent food, looks strange at first but surprisingly they pull it off. I’ve been here 3 times already and have only had good experiences with this place. The staff is very friendly and by how it looks on the inside they do take out. Definitely a great spot if you’re feeling something new and crazy!

I had burger from here and it was so bad. I ordered from inside and i was told it will be ready in 10-15 min so waited outside. However it wasnt ready on time, waited a bit longer than that – anyway it happens not a big issue- but burger came out cold!!

None of the employees could care less about the customers. Sat waiting there for 25 minutes while my food was on the counter for over 10 minutes. No employees bothered to call the name out and were all in the back messing around with each other. I commented to the employee how it’s been sitting there for over 10 minutes and he just shrugged. It’s a shame, 5 years ago the place was great. Now I’ll never return.

Indulgent menu made from the stuff of a college guy’s wackiest dreams. Unfortunately, the menu is cut down a bit from what I’ve seen before the pandemic – the pork items are missing – so I ended up getting the fat soprano sandwich (meatballs, ravioli, mozzarella sticks, and marinara sauce). It was pretty good, not as heavy and overwhelming as I thought it would be, but I was prepared for that so I would try something else next time. The real stars of the show were the sides. I got their fried Mac & Cheese bites and a brownie roll and they were delicious. Lastly, I got a banana Nutella shake with peanut butter and that was pretty good too, but the banana was lost somewhere in the mix. Would love come back once their full menu is back!
