I had an absolutely wonderful time at this Mexican restaurant! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere and welcoming staff made me feel right at home. The menu was a delightful array of authentic Mexican dishes, bursting with flavors that transported me straight to Mexico. The portions were generous, and the pricing felt reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. What truly stood out was the attentive and friendly staff who made sure every detail was perfect. Whether it was recommendations for dishes or catering to dietary preferences, they went above and beyond. I left with a happy heart and a satisfied appetite, already looking forward to my next visit. If you’re a fan of delicious Mexican cuisine and exceptional service, this restaurant is an absolute must-try!

Was really looking forward to this place and was really let down when I finally went. Queso was not available, how do you not have cheese dip at 4 in the afternoon midweek? Quac was fresh but flavorless and the chips were store bought. I had a bistec quesadilla and the steak did have good flavor but it was drowned out by the abundance of cheese ( maybe why they had no question dip ) in the quesadilla. The atmosphere inside is a hodge podge of lighting and strange hangings on the walls, from a cheap map of the US-Mexico border to some ok painted portraits of random women. Overall I was underwhelmed and mildly disappointed, I cannot recommend.

If you haven’t visited Casa Amado, you’re missing out. We stopped by on the way after a funeral visitation, planning to grab a beverage while we waited for carry out (This was at 7:30, they close at 8). However it all worked out, we ended up eating in and we’re glad we did. I can’t say which taco was best – all were delicious; we both has the 3 taco combo ($11). We had a mix of the steak, pork, chicken and mushroom tacos, with some chips and guac (these were great). Tacos were full, both of filling and flavor! Staff were great, fun and friendly. Definitely going back!

Just visited this taquería for the first time and what a delight. Some of the best tacos I’ve had in a long time. Definitely authentic. So glad they have nopales (in case you’re curious about cactus tacos, and you should!). I had the Seema, Chicken, and Pork tacos; pork was my favorite. I will definitely be back when they have the birria tacos with consomé again. The staff is very friendly, the place small but inviting. Makes me happy to find a good authentic Mexican restaurant option outside of Mexicantown.

Some of the best tasting Mexican food in the metro Detroit area. Brilliant flavors and toppings on the tacos. The salsas are perfect, especially the habanero. Loved the queso – definitely add mushrooms. Absolutely worthy of all of the praise.

Small neighborhood place. Casual and amazingly delicious. At first look, it’s a carryout place, but with a closer look, there is a seating area upstairs. Its not your typical restaurant. Order at the counter and food is delivered to your table at lightning speed.

I recently moved to the area and was craving Mexican. We found Casa Amado on Google, and were impressed with the good reviews. We called ahead as we weren’t sure how the wait was, if it was counter service etc.

Came here for the first time, the expanded hours are much better now, and loved the tacos, rice, and beans. Had the Mexican Bistec, Chipotle Chicken, and Pork tacos along with the black beans, cilantro rice, and the chips with salsa and guac. Will be back when my taco cravings hit during normal business hours.

Chef Amado is the real deal!! The food is always fresh and delicious. The flavor combinations in the tacos are creative. The food and service never disappoints, and I always want to go back the next day for more tacos, chips and guacamole, and margaritas!

I ordered a mushroom taco, chicken taco, veggie taco and street corn with some chips and guacamole. All of it was delicious. Good sized tacos with fresh ingredients and seasoned well. Will be back.
