Third trip to Casa de Valdez. Our first two times, the food was excellent. This time, the barbecue ribs and the vegetables were overcooked on my meal. The brisket was excellent, and the fish and chips were excellent for other members in our group. Will definitely try it again next time we are in Taos.

They usually have really good food but they have made changes to there salsa and chips to cheep store bought not good, for that I could go buy that at the store my self. And the sopaipillas were smaller than usual and kind of doughie.

Ordered the bbq, which is oven baked and not smoked. It was just okay. Nothing special. Partner ordered the NM combo plate with a steak enchilada and pozole instead of beans. He got a chicken enchilada instead and beans instead of pozole. The chile relleno was burned. The tamale was good. Service was terrible. Took longer to settle the bill than to eat the meal

I had delicious brisket with habanero barbecue sauce (there are 3 barbecue sauces to choose from), perfect mashed potatoes and a tasty simple green salad with homemade vinaigrette. The service was excellent, as was the ambiance.

Honestly I thought the building was very nice, the bartender was also very nice but the food was a different story. We stopped in got food and I get back to the hotel to find hair in my food. I go back for them to remake it, only for them to remake it wrong and then short me on the extra meat that I purchased.
