Don’t let the name fool you, there’s A LOT more than just corn (or corn dishes) at this restaurant. The options seem limitless, and the servers pile on the food without reservations. One plate here can feed even the hungriest of the hungry without breaking the back (not even close). But the best part is that everything I’ve tried is delicious. Those ribs were out of this world! I grabbed to bone and the meat just fell off. Great flavors, fresh ingredients, lots of options, huge portions, and surprising prices. You’ve gotta give them a shot.

The price is very reasonable for the portion of food served. I like that the food looks appetizing and not dry as if it has been sitting for awhile. The congri rice is so moist and delicious. The shredded beef (ropa vieja) was tender. A little on the salty side but pairs well with mixed vegetables. We also had the vaca frita which was well seasoned and tender. Great for lunch and a great change from burgers and fries.

Look. I get it. People who aren’t Cuban or Latino in anyway would think this is a good place because they aren’t familiar with what quality Latino food is but this place is not it. The food is way off from good, the only thing not bland being their meat options. The rice is obviously that cheap box rice that’s either precooked or microwave cooked. The yucca would have been perfect if it weren’t for the whole layers of onion on the top. The service was acceptable and the place was clean, which for me, is enough to say it’s not a disaster of a restaurant. I recommend you go the “La Casa Del Maíz” in Hialeah. Sure it’s a little hot and kinda dusty but the food is worth the wait and the customer service will make you feel like you’re talking to old friends.

For the first time i cannot give them 5 stars. Ordered a pan con lechon to go asked for the potato sticks inside sandwich. When I opened it to eat it no potato sticks and the majority of the meat was outside of the sandwich. I will make sure to check my to go order from now on before leaving the restaurant.
