I popped in for lunch as I was staying at the Embassy suites nearby. After a long morning of travel and among a sea of cafe options in the area, I wanted a more substantial lunch.

This place had a great atmosphere with great food. (The reason I put 4 stars on food is because of personal preference) I went here with my grandparents and since there vegetarian I had to have vegetarian food. So I ordered my meal and it was ok. But when they gave us beans, they gave us beans with pork fat. Even though what we ordered was in the vegetarian section. People these days. Don’t even know there menus. We got our meals remade and overall they were pretty good.

My recent visit to Casa Tequila was a disappointment, with the main issue being the poor quality of the service. The server was polite, but lacked attentiveness, not frequently checking in to ensure we were satisfied with our experience.

The food was really good. Had a taco salad and guacamole. We went tonight on Cinco de Mayo. It was very busy. Several things happened. A guy was accusing staff of leaving the bathroom without washing their hands. I ordered a frozen margarita. I never got it, and our server did not return to our table after we ordered until we asked another server about the margarita. This was 30 minutes after we got our food. She then brought me the margarita that had been setting at the bar for 25 minutes and was half melted. I told her to take it back. BASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS LACKING. We expected slower service, but not this bad.

I enjoyed the food but clearly they skimp on their drinks. I ate here for two dinners, first day was happy hour and I had a happy hour quesadilla, a house marg and a beer. That was fine, I noticed I was tasting more mix and only very faint hints of tequila. I didn’t mind as much solely cause it was happy hour. The next day I decided to go back and have a real meal. I ordered the Al Pastor tacos which were excellent! For my drink I ordered a coronarita. Now I understood that it would be a generic marg made from their big pitcher they used for happy hour. But when I received the drink I noticed the corona in the coronarita has already emptied in the glass. Reason I love the coronarita is the science behind it. The idea as you drink a coronarita the beer refills the glass and you go from a Marg taste to slowly drinking a beer. So it sat with me as I ate the tacos, that not only are they not making their drinks strong they are relying on the baby corona to make a full drink!

The food is good, but it can be pricey. The service is excellent, which is one of the reasons I continue to visit. The atmosphere is always quiet and pleasant, though I have not been during happy hour!

Food was mediocre. The tamale was so salty I couldn’t have more than two bites. Rest of the food was also too salty. Salsa was watery and tasteless. My taco came in a hardshell. What is this Taco Bell? He didn’t even ask me. Service was mediocre. Waiter was nice but totally forgot about us so we eventually had to flag a kitchen worker to bring the check.
