Portions aren’t big but the food is FANTASTIC and the service was phenomenal. They ask about dietary restrictions up front and make helpful tips. Highly recommend making reservations which we failed to do. But staying the night at Timberline Lodge, we called down and got added to the walk in list and got a text when the table was ready. Market selection appetizer was an especially great hit.

Made reservations online a week ahead and went there last week on a weekday for buffet lunch. The restaurant was half-packed, mostly with senior citizens who belonged to the “Paddlewheel Club,” according to the person standing in the buffet line. For about $30 per person, there were very few options for entrees to choose from: beef brisket (kind of tough and bland), pork belly (tender and a bit vinegary), and chicken pot pie (looked like a thick soup or mush in a soup pot). The entrees and the tiny desserts were so-so. Lots of salads though. There were still waffles (probably leftovers from the breakfast time). I’d eat one if there was fried chicken to accompany it . The coffee was free, but if you wanted sodas or wine, it’d be extra. The waitstaff was nice and attentive. If you want to go eat in there just for the atmosphere, the dining room was nice with picture windows looking out to a great vista, but you’d have to arrive early to get seated by a window.

My wife and I made a reservation to eat at the the Cascade Dining at Timberline Lodge. Arriving there everything seem great. The view from the hotel/restaurant is outstanding. The buffet didn’t have many options but we were already aware of it as we checked the menu before. But the food was just okay. And to make it worse, after some time they stop restocking the buffet, even if it is still within the time of lunch. They said they were already getting prepared for dinner. This was quite disappointing. We paid full price of the buffet, but dessert was not fully available. In summary, I would not recommend this restaurant. For the view, you can visit the hotel and even get a drink from one of their bars, but I wouldn’t spend my money and time in the restaurant.

The cascade dining room is a very nice place to eat dinner at the Timberline. The food and service were phenomenal. Additionally, if you sit near the windows you can see a great view, especially on a clear or partly cloudy day.

Great views, service, food and wines. Their duck risotto was fantastic – paired with an excellent Oregon Pinot Noir. Overall: excellent value.

Dined here for Valentine’s Day and I will say that the experience was…underwhelming. My boyfriend and I have had a room reserved at the lodge for some time now and thought I’d make a reservation for Cascade weeks in advance. Prior to our actual reservation, I made more than a handful of calls to the dining room and was told that I would get a call back from management to reserve a time slot for Valentine’s day. I never received a phone call from them. The one time I did call and I was greeted by somebody, she put me on hold for over 30 minutes and nothing was resolved as she hung up the phone. Usually I would have taken matters into my own hands and just made the reservation online but the Valentine’s day was blocked out of the system. Luckily my boyfriend made a call and he got a reservation in place.

This place was an experience! Amazing food, drinks and atmosphere…. Prices are in line with any fine dining experience but this place goes above and beyond. Truly exceptional in every aspect. Sean was our server and was great. The entire staff goes out of the way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. Top notch quality

I just wanted to enjoy my birthday dinner… Manager mentioned birthday and was very nice.. everything went downhill after this. Waiter mentioned my birthday twice and said something about dessert but instead of a nice touch for birthday.. I would have ordered my own but the kitchen closed at 8:15? On top of that..the check was dropped off WHILE I was eating my main and obviously he forgot and was just ready get rid of me. Totally unprofessional for a “fine dining” and to be honest only fine about this place is the view… Do yourself a favor and have food at the pub instead. Food was 3/5 nothing to recommend to anyone in the future. I really wanted to give this place a higher review but it let me down.

We came up here to the Cascade Restaurant for our 40th anniversary. Gavin was our waiter and helped make our meal excellent. We had the Taste of Timberline and everything was excellent. Made for a wonderful end to our day.
