The food was hit or miss. The steaks were well prepared and very tender. The other meals/appetizers were well overpriced for the ingredients that went into them or the quantity of food. The Hot Brown had processed turkey in it which for the price of the meal was disturbing. The salads were very good (cold and crisp). The service on the other hand was all miss. It took forever to have our orders taken. A couple that came in after us was served and left by our same waiter well before our small group. The appetizer was brought out at the same time as the meal even though it was obviously mentioned to have it brought with the salad. Our drinks were never refilled unless we flagged our waitress down.

We have been here twice before, and it was great. This last time was a disappointment. The steak was cooked well, just didn’t seem as seasoned as it normally is. I ordered the fries only because I had loved them in the past because of their unique flavor. This time they were not the same at all-soggy and not seasoned as I had remembered. The caramel brownie we usually love was a bowl of mush drenched in fudge-not good. Very disappointed this time.

I must say the absolute best dinner ever at a restaurant. The steaks where cooked to perfection. The service was excellent!!! The peach cobbler desert was amazing. The only negative thing i have to say is the seating is over crowded. But i most definitely will eat there again very soon!!!!

We dropped by Cast Iron a few nights ago to celebrate our anniversary. I’ll make this review brief. We were greeted at the door fairly quickly on this busy night. We had reservations – it took a few minutes longer than I would have like to get to our table but no biggie. The services was relatively slow – maybe due to the business? Not overly friendly but certainly not rude. My wife and I looked at each other at one point and said “i feel a bad review coming on…” It took a while for our food to reach us, but when it did, our opinion was changed! We both ordered a filet… hers a 6 oz and mine an 8 oz. They were cooked perfectly (hers midwell and mine medium) and they were wrapped in bacon and delicious. And the price tag!?! About $20 including a salad and a side. Salads were average. My baked mac and cheese was scrumptious and she said her baked potato was good. The complimentary bread and garlic butter was pretty good, too. We passed on dessert but it sounded yummy. Despite the mediocre service, we will surely return to Cast Iron. Oh… one other thing… the decor was pretty tacky. Not a huge deal, there was not a common thread except that I told my wife that it looked like Garden Ridge had thrown up all over the walls.

Visited for our tenth anniversary. I had the chopped steak and 5 cheese Mac; beef was cooked as ordered, mac was good. Husband had the Cajun chicken pasta, in which he said was spicy and flavorful. The sourdough bread served with butter was delish. The waitress was attentive and courteous. Decor is nice, the lighting is very dim. It does not appear that they could hold many patrons at a time so reservations are recommended if you plan to come at a peak time.

My wife and I made the drive from Fern Creek because of a coupon deal. We arrived for a late lunch/early dinner as soon as they opened on a Saturday (3:00pm) because we read that it gets rather busy during the evenings. There were only a handful of other diners at that time of day, so the service was great and the food was was very good also. The sides were great as well. And the bread and butter they outstanding. My wife kept commenting that her steak (Cast Iron Filet) was the best she had ever had! I like spicy foods, so I ordered the spicy Talapia/crab dish, and it brought while we waited for our entrees was so good, I had the be careful not to fill up on it!

A friend of mine, also my chiropractor and massage therapist, first told me about Cast Iron Steakhouse on River Road. He said, “It’s really, really good! The steaks are cooked in “cast iron skillets,” the salads are fresh, all of the sides are excellent, and the cobbler is to die for!” So, on Saturday, July 12, 2014, we ventured out to meet another couple at Cast Iron Steakhouse to celebrate my husband’s 56 birthday! They take reservations, and I was able to make our reservation online, and three weeks prior! EVERYTHING was fabulous! We had a delightful time, the service was excellent, and, yes, the cobbler was to die for!” Recommend highly!

Fabulous food! We love this place but will not be back. The bartender Alicia is the most rude and hateful person we’ve ever encountered in the service industry. I understand people can have a bad day but she is always short, rude and down right hateful when speaking to patrons unless it’s her favorite local people. We are done with it! Farewell!

I’ve only been here once so my experience is a little limited but we did have a great meal and the service was great. The food was good too. The only downfall for me was the seating was a bit to close for me.
