I was very disappointed to be spending $27 on 2 fish lunch plates and 2 sweet tea’s for my food to be old. I went through the drive through at 12:30 on a Friday and my fish, hush puppies and fries are cold like they were cooked an hour before. The cole slaw had alot of water and no dressing.

The food was worth the wait! Hot and fresh. The seafood was fresh with no fishy smell, reasonable prices . Really enjoyed the meal. The seafood platter was roughly $15 with shrimps, oysters, stuffed crab, fish strips, fries, coleslaw, ans ranch beans. My mini fish dish was $4.49 with 3 fish strips, fries, and hush puppies. Excellent eating. Friendly staff also. Great job Catfish King in Monroe, La. located on Sterlington Rd.

This place hasn’t changed in 40 years as far as looks. My office ordered lunch & it just wasn’t the same. The hushpuppies aren’t the cylindrical goodness I remember from my childhood anymore & they don’t taste the same. The pinto beans don’t have the thick liquor like they used to either. The fish are still good, but that’s hard to mess up. The tartar sauce is more mayo than anything & apparently, the girl that took the order doesn’t know the difference between cocktail sauce & ketchup. Not to mention, when I called the order in, she repeated it back to me & when I got there she tried to argue, saying we only ordered 2 plates. She needs to be placed elsewhere because I’m not the only one who had this issue with her that day. The food is subpar compared to what it used to be & that’s sad since this was a place I always looked forward to going as a kid. Bring the proper Catfish King hushpuppies & good pinto beans back, please!!!

This was my first time here. My wife has eaten here many times, so we stopped in on our way out of town for a late lunch. The dri k machine was down, so I just drank water which was not an issue for me. My wife had tea. We both had the catfish and it was cooked perfectly with a crunchy outside and soft moist inside. Our waitress was very nice and took good care of us. The food was hot and good. We’ll be back next time we are in town.

don’t waste your time. fish was as hard as concrete and extremely dry. shrimp was over cooked and had a horrible texture. everything was horrible. even the people behind us had to request a manager. 0/10. save your money or go elsewhere.
