Wow! Sarah at Whitefish Lodge recommended this restaurant and she was spot on! Great food, friendly timely service, great northwoods atmosphere!

Wonderful broasted chicken, burger was great and they are known for their ribs, which looked really good. We will be back soon! The outside deck had a nice view and the inside was hopping with live music and a large crowd on a Monday night.

Went here with a big group and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. I ordered the Califonia Burger, and it was Good, however there was ALOT of onion on it but other then that the food was absolutely amazing. I would recommend going here.

Cedar Chest has a nice outdoor patio that seats about 6 tables and overlooks a lake. In our experience, the food is bland or over cooked. We have tried the ribs, broasted chicken, grilled walleye (the parmesian seasoning has a chemical taste so avoid), and several sandwiches including burgers. Most of the food is under seasoned or over cooked (ribs)They seem to fare best with their burgers, although the fries are mediocre in taste. Beers are served cool, not cold. The waiters work hard and meet our needs each time. The house manager, an older woman, can be a real buzz kill. When the place is busy she does not seem to handle the stress well; mouthy, sharp and rude to customers. In summary, the atmosphere outside is nice and waiters work hard. Avoid the older woman house manager if possible. Food is average bar food with some good and some not so great entrees.

We had a group of 8. Everyone said the food was great. Doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it’s a hidden gem. The service was great, the view from the deck amazing. The only thing I’d suggest is some type of glass cover, we had pollen chucks falling in our drinks from the beautiful trees.

The Cedar Chest is hands down the BEST place in the Crosslake area! We have always had outstanding service and great food here. I am so appreciative of the variety of gluten-free menu choices!! The wait staff and bar tenders are always so cheerful and friendly. Looking forward to warmer weather so we can dine outside on the beautiful deck.

Great music, great view from outside seating, and seriously amazing food. Honestly I want expecting such good food from a bar, but it was fantastic.

10-11-2019 Friday after the meat raffle in Crosslake. The place was packed. We got the last empty table. Lots of noise volume. But it was really crowded.
