Tucked away in a tree shaded strip center. Almost a hidden treasure. Busy but never crowded lends to an unhurried casual meal. Service is prompt and efficient. Intimate booths and central table area. Full bar. Diverse menu selection. Enchiladas are great. I am stuck on the street tacos … try all the meats. This time I ventured out and tried the crispy tripas ones. Fantastic. Never a disappointment whatever we try.

5 stars for the prices and drinks! Super affordable tex Mex with their lunch specials, green enchiladas are good and gorditas were ok. The margaritas however made up for the ok food (very strong)!

Service is AWFUL!!!!! Have had the same lady two times and have had to wait 30 plus minutes on the check. We also asked her multiple times for the check and she proceeded to go stand in the kitchen and talk and we could see her.

This is the kind of place where you know what you’re going to get every single time, and there’s something really comforting about that. Quality of food is consistent, and it’s always affordable. No, it’s not gourmet, and the chips & salsa definitely are not homemade, but the food is good and you know you don’t have to dress up to get a good bite to eat. Service has been decent for us each time we’ve been, and especially after having an extremely unsavory experience at another Mexican restaurant that just opened about a couple miles away, I really see the value in Centinela. I know where will go in the future for Tex Mex in Boerne.

Revision from 5 stars down to 3. Update revision from 3 to 1 as of 5-25-20. My wife and I use to come here frequently but don’t really go anymore. The food has really gone downhill. We have gone right when they open several times and have got old food that we even questioned if it was leftover from the day before. Also one waitress that we seem to get every time is another reason we downgraded this from 5 stars to 3. The reason we downgraded from 3 to 1 is because the past 3 times we have gone the food has gone downhill. Watery rice, watery queso that doesn’t ever thicken, chips seem to be store bought now and they are super salty. We are done spending money with this restaurant.
